A No Go for Tier 5 Solutions Modified Bolt Catch

Sorry but...I gotta dredge this up.
I was at the Newburgh gun show back in November (2020) and there was one dealer that was there selling complaint AR’s. This was literally the only thing he did to make them compliant. So my question is two fold. Was this officially deemed “non complaint”? Second, is the company still around? I can’t find them online.

nothing is official until itgoes to a court of law and ruled on. Doubt they are still in business. Just a word from the Gestapo is enough to scare the lemmings away and dry up business.

You can make one yourself, drill a hole for the spring and detention in the bolt catch and you are good to go.

I think I finally have an excuse to buy a drill press. I also need to install a PDQ that’s been collecting dust in a draw.

You don't even need the detent. Just the spring. The Teir 5 kit only includes the bolt catch with the extra hole and the spring.

You may need a permit for that drill press, the rest of us are waiting to see if we are grandfathered in. A new felony awaits.

I would use the detent just to avoid damaging the spring with the pivot movement.

I like them, but similar to the Tier 5 (which i also like), its up to your personal risk tolerance as there is no guidance.

I know ... But it is possible to lock the mag! And with no district and specific lawful description of what constitutes "locked" I believe that risk to be low! Hey, you keep it locked when at the range, and unlocked when at home for defensive purposes! Simple right!
