Are they really true socialist or actually selfish hedonist? I work with some of these barnacles and they are totally self serving blood suckers. There are givers and takers in the world, the population of takers is growing.
The problem is that we are a society that has long forgotten that the way of the world is to suffer and struggle and bleed for your supper.
So when things look like the won't be so artificially rosy anymore we are willing to whore ourselves out for the promise of continued comfort.

To someone that has never been to NYC, that means nothing to me. I have no idea what the culture is like.
I have watched the movie Warriors a dozen times though.

I think this is spot on and a very important point when we think about the work we need to do to claw our country back from the edge of stupidity and economic suicide.
Vast majority of lefties, in my experience, are not members of some vast, evil conspiracy. They literally think differently and believe different things. They're sincere in those beliefs and think the policies they get behind are the right track and good for the country.
