I believe most cops do the right thing. We always see the worst and never see their best.
He is absolutely correct the only thing keeping society peaceful is the fact most people are peaceful. The police don’t hold any power over us ,at this point their job is to make money for the local government. There is no thin blue line , they don’t stop chaos and society won’t fall apart without them. When people get tired of taking their shit police wouldn’t hold the line for an hour.
Police should be out there helping the community they work in , not acting like thugs for the local government .

Nice to hear him speak out, but I find it incredibly hard to believe it's genuine "we don't have the power to take these rights away" as he sits there with an AR that he would arrest any lesser citizen with if they didn't have the proper papers.
I feel bad for those in areas that have so many less than good cops. Throughout my time in my current department, I have spoken with many officers, the vast majority see things as clear as, or as close to this cop as possible.
It is a shame that the vast majority in the US do not feel similar to this guy.
I have no idea where this guy works, but I am sure his job is safe. Wonder if his bosses feel the same way?

Didn't watch yet, but I'm guessing no. It seems most departments are like anything else - higher up the ladder is all just political bullshit.
I will say the sheriff's seem to be the exception. Howard takes no shit, we are lucky to have him, and there are other sheriff's out there like him.
In my experience, your regular patrol cops from different agencies seem to be pretty decent for the most part. Except maybe troopers. I'll be honest, I haven't really met one that wasn't full of themselves.
Didn't want to outright say it lol. My father in law was a trooper. Good guy with his inner circle, but I'm sweating anytime I see one behind me.

Yes I’ve had a few encounters all of them have been condescending assholes, they yell and curse at you. Treat you like a child.
I have also had good ones too, I got pulled over on 9 in croton on Hudson doing 80. He saw my pistol permit and we bullshitted about guns for 10 minutes and he let me go.
I grew up in a town where police had to live in the town when they got hired , result was police who everyone knew and they knew everyone . We shopped together, were neighbors ,kids played together like a proper community. When I was young they would never ever ticket residents unless you were really asking for it because it always turned out they were related to another officer somehow or grew up together. You were more likely to get taken home to your father in the middle of the night then arrested. Even now that place has changed for the worse.

Funny, nearly every cop I know, I would consider one of the good ones.
Can't remember the city in Michigan, last week there was a protest, they had to bring in officers from their reserve section because nearly 3/4 if the regular officers called in sick so they didn't have to work the protest.

He is the norm, but most people don’t go out of their way to make cool guy videos and such because they’re just normal cops/citizens who follow the law and do what’s right day in day out.
I have no more respect for him than any quiet cop I work with who minds his own business and does the right thing. In fact, most cops I work with aren’t going around with guns citizens can’t own, like this guy clearly is (as I posted immediately). Now yes, that doesn’t apply to me but the vast majority of cops I work with never take their 15 round mags home and own nothing besides the work gun in their locker and a small off duty any of you could have.

Granted, the can is on a duty gun locked in his car. We do not know if he owns some of these items in his personal life.
Oh, and BTW, the vast majority of cops are not at all gun people, many of them have no idea that they can own different types of guns and accessories. Many that I know own two guns; their duty gun that stays at work in the locker and the smaller pistol that they carry off duty. I know quite of few that don't even carry a gun off duty.
A very small percentage of co-workers of mine own AR's and the like. Not gun people at all.
Yeah it’s a strange misconception that true gun guys need to get over. When I came on, guys like me we’re actually laughed at and called “buffs”. Now, it’s so far gone that even saying buff is pointless because there’s so few of us.
The gun is not even close to the most important tool of a cop. Upwards of 95% of cops will never fire their gun on duty except at the range. They have zero need or desire to become “gun guys”.
