Why? Because what you said makes no sense. That’s why. You are making a statement that if a virus doesn’t reach you, you will still get infected. You are also saying BS about regular flu deaths. I cant argue that ridiculousness. You can continue arguing with yourself at this point.

I never said if a virus doesn’t reach you you can still get infected.

I said that the distance the virus travels after leaving your mouth doesn't matter.

Let me give you an example.

Lets say you step in some dog shit and then walk around your house. The dog shit won't jump off your shoe. It can't go anywhere your shoe doesn’t touch.

That doesn’t mean it's not going to get everywhere.

Just like your mask that stops the virus from traveling more than 2 inches. Fine it ends up 2 inches away when you exhale. Then where does the breeze blow it ?

As you walk around the city leaving a giant cloud of virus behind you. The distance from the mask after the exhale is irrelevant.

And unaffected by the mask, unless it is actually trapping virus particles, but at some point it will saturate and just emit them on it's own again.

Otherwise the number exhaled is the same, so the concentration 3 feet away from you will be the same steady state regardless of the mask. Whether it takes them 2 seconds or 20 to get there doesn’t matter.
