So it's not like an ar15 where i can just pin the magazine?Try doing a search here.
They'll need the pistol grips removed or replaced with a different stock conversion. All goofy ugly complaint stocks must be fixed and without a pistol grip. Magazines must be kept at 10 rounds max. Some people in California have modified a fixed magazine that can be fed externally through a slot that's cut out or something similar. Your final option is to keep all features, but switch to a bolt action setup by modifying the bolt or something else. The vz 58 rifles are probably the best option. They can be loaded with stripper clips from the top and look good and should still be fairly practical and fun to own/shoot.
Take the muzzle brake off it if has one and take the grip off. Should be good to go after that.

Or a regular one with a Thordsen stock. Fixed mags are just toys.Saigas are the best bet.

No. An actual AK47 (ak 47 type 1 stamped). is not legal in NY as they are full auto, and very rare. If you instead mean an AK pattern or AK type firearm then yes.Are AK-47's legal in new york?

if you take the brake off you would still have threads on the barrel, have to fuck those up or cut them (if its over 16in)
