AKs have never been as inaccurate as people have thought. Mostly it's the ammunition its fed.
The 74 is actually known to be a fairly accurate rifle since the factories just reamed a .22 cal bore in .30 cal blanks. Its possible for a good 74 to shoot 2 MOA groups with quality surplus.
Definitive Arms can build you a sub MOA gun in 6.5 Grendel if you got the $$$ for it:
I'd consider something like that to be the ultimate in the Kalashnikov platform, over even the Galil Ace.

Oh and to be fair I know the AK is much more accurate than people claim it to be, just like the AR is much more reliable.
But still a 1,000 repeatable shot in .224v is pretty neat.

Certainly is very neat indeed. I once ran into guy with a heavily modified SKS chambered in 6PPC, he was clover leafing at 100 yards.
For an AK though I think the 6.5 Grendel makes more sense, sharing the same bolt face dimensions as the native 7.62x39 and all. Hell it would seem the 6.5 Grendel is the best cartridge to chamber an AK in with cheap Wolf ammo available for the caliber.
I really do enjoy seeing these builders doing weird fun builds with AKs showing they can still hang
