The huge new towers erected across I-90, are electronic spy antennae, and are not just for collecting tolls. NSA/DHS/FBI get raw data, besides NYS thruway authority.
I suspect that I-81 will get some at the Binghamton border crossing into Pa.
I understand the above was humor, but in the spirit of pointing out the draconian Massachusetts laws which are particularly bad on ammo…I see a new business opportunity coming up
I'll go buy ammo in a free state, and meet you in Pa, or Vt or Ma or RI and I'll sell you ammo for cost plus a "gas surcharge" ( Hey, I cost me money to go get it) but at least you'll avoid the ammo gestapo.
I just got 1,000 rounds of 9mm for $310.00 to my door and that’s not bad there for these times. It was TSUSA. If you order a case they are the cheapest I’ve seen.I have stocked up with 9mm from Buds online during most of July. They still got plenty of 9 ammo, but not much else like 38 Spl or 357 which are the popular calibers, and what I also shoot in my pistols and lever guns. The 9 ammo prices at Buds are the lowest I could find and comparable or better than TargetsportsUSA which BTW has higher shipping costs unless you order a whole case. Sure, I paid $16-$17 per box for ammo I was paying $10-$12 for 3 years ago, but we don't have a choice. Actually they had the best prices also on REM/UMC like 17.95-18.50 for 50rd boxes, and for those I was paying an average of $12.95-13.95 before Covid, so it's not that bad.
Also after every order I put in Buds sent me a $5 off my next purchase a few days later. It makes shipping more tolerable, but most of my orders were $12 for shipping (up to 7 boxes). If you order 4 boxes it's $10 shipping or half that if they send you the $5 off code.
Yep. I ordered a fair amount from Buds this spring. Solid prices, and you didn’t have to order a case to get a deal.I have stocked up with 9mm from Buds online during most of July. But shipping usually cost close to what another box costs and now you’re paying taxes too. I’ll bet it costs more in the long run than just saving and buying one case. Shipping at buds is $12-14 and federal 9mm at buds is $0.41/round and at TSUSA is $0.38/round so what am I missing here?Yep. I ordered a fair amount from Buds this spring. The Remington is a bit cheaper at buds but TSUSA has cheaper FMJ a options but if you have to have Remington 9mm I guess it might work out to be a bit cheaper.
Also remember TSUSA has a ammo membership that sounds like it would have saved you money in the long run as well. Too late now since we will need ammo background checks coming up 9/1.
He literally has an account here hahaThere's a small shop off the interstate in PA south of Binghamton. Stop for a pee at the PA welcome center and get off the next exit.
I was at a gunshop yesterday and an "expert" came in and was trying to tell us, that no longer could you buy a gun and ammo for it at the same time...supposedly Hochul said that.
I PROMPTLY PURCHASED SOME AMMO FOR ONE GUN I JUST PICKED UP, ticking off that guy!! He intimated that I would be sorry, and that the notice obviously did not arrive yet.
Hell, likely there will be no ammo NICS check set up before 2023 at the earliest, and ESPECIALLY BEFORE THE 2ND CIRCUIT LAYS OUT THE Bruen RULES..
Who are these experts? Hochul spies?
He’s just happy he doesn’t need a license to buy his one box of shotgun slugs for deer camp.I was at a gunshop yesterday and an "expert" came in and was trying to tell us, that no longer could you buy a gun and ammo for it at the same time...supposedly Hochul said that.

Bought just over 4,000 rounds online over the past month to add to my hoard. If they want to play games and buying online goes away, I'll bring my business to PA.I was at a gunshop yesterday and an "expert" came in and was trying to tell us, that no longer could you buy a gun and ammo for it at the same time...supposedly Hochul said that.

I will do the same for ammo and when they ban gasoline engines and natural gas appliances I will do the same. NYS will lose a lot of tax money since I’m guessing I’m not the only one.Bought just over 4,000 rounds online over the past month to add to my hoard. Excellent. He literally has an account here haha
Don't rest on the idea that they won't create something that barely functions, just to be able to put a stop to online and out-of-State purchases.its been 9 yrs since the un-safe-act and no ammo database .. LOL ..
At some point all these fees and conditions and requirements being enforced on a Right have to stop.well they have a less then a Month to get it done then ..
Nevertheless my guess is some (most?) of the online sellers may stop shipping to NY until the law is struck down by the courts.its been 9 yrs since the un-safe-act and no ammo database .. LOL ..
BTW, does any vendor still ship to NY? Is TSUSA still shipping? Buds stopped about a month ago.
I just counted mine and realized I made a mistake in my math and only have 2,500 9mm rounds. I 'd like to be in the 3k-4k range if I won't be able to order ammo in the next few years. I refuse to get ripped off by LGS. I 've now put every caliber in a spreadsheet to keep better track when I go to the range, or add to my stash.
The Database and ability to run checks isn't operational yet, reading through the Law its mentioned that the SP would use the NICS (Federal system) however the Federal system specifically prohibits it from being used for ANYTHING besides the sale/transfer of Handgun, Long Gun, or "Other"... The State has their E-Justice computer system for Law Enforcement to read and review criminal records, but that has to be reviewed, it doesn't have "marked boxes" nor reflect sealed records, so the idea that the person is shown as a go or no-go doesn't seem possible, only the person reading the record and doing the check has to figure out if the applicant is a prohibited person or not, and somehow I have to think that screw ups will be rampant.I was told by a gun store that its not going into effect(the background check to buy ammo) until august of 2024 because their database isn't set up yet...
You’re FFL must be special then because everyone I have spoken with have been told nothing and heard nothing. I’m not saying he’s wrong, but I doubt anyone will say anything concrete these days that has any authority from NYS.I was told by a gun store that its not going into effect(the backround check to buy ammo ) untill august of 2024 because their database isnt set up yet..
Last I knew they were still for the time being. Things are changing fast on the vendor end. Get it while you can. Also driving to another state is an option. Also remember any gun store specific purchase is being tracked by the credit card companies and anything suspicious is being reported to the authorities. What’s suspicious is anyones guess.BTW, does any vendor still ship to NY? Is TSUSA still shipping? Buds stopped about a month ago.
