Ammo Prices ??

Okay so I know ammo hard to find and super expensive right now but my own experience hit me with a thought yesterday. I went to Sportsman warehouse to check for ammo... and they had a cart out with turkey season and all coming of Federal SST turkey loads....but they were priced at 51.99. Got thinking I know the whole supply demand crap but still.....with that got me thinking WHOM is marking it up that bad and making the boocoo bucks??

Federal pricing it way up to the retailer or the retailer to the customer?? probably both but really?? whos all profiting off this. Im NOT paying 12.50 to shoot at a turkey?!

I am set so dont need any shotgun ammo but still.....who would pay that for 4 or 5 shells?? really...someone making the money as im sure some people will pay that if they have none for upcoming spring turkey...but whos making the money..im thinking both marking it up a little to come to that 51.99 price.... my god I guess seeing it for the first time was a reality hit!!!!!

Im not paying these prices I have a little stash but not paying those crazy prices for any ammo!!!!

Bought a bulk pack, 800 Federal .22 LR. yesterday. Price was $65.00 - an increase of $20 from 3 months ago. This price was from a big-box store that has been keeping it's prices very reasonable. Ten months ago, same ammo was $ 70 for a case of 1600.

I'm inclined to believe that the distributors are marking it up.

I too have found 22lr and was still very reasonable. Even shot shells prior to this were semi normal pricing. This was first I saw of True Gouging..

Yeah, it’s distributors.

My FFL is paying $28 a box for 9mm from distributors and selling retail for $32-$35. I’ve seen his invoices.

Big Box stores have contracts and can keep their prices lower ($17-$19 for 9mm at SW, $8 Mini-mags at WM).

Keep in mind that ammo was that price long before the shortage and price jump kicked in. That is tungsten ammo and that’s why the cost is what it is. You’re seeing it now because that’s all there is left to purchase.

Glad when gander outdoors was going out of business I bought tons of winchester super X turkey loads for $4-$8.00 for 10 round boxes.

I think the ammo manufacturers should just keep selling cheaply despite not having the means to replenish supply and just go out of business.

I assume you mean TSS not SST. The reason why they are so much is because the shot is made out of Tungsten instead of steel, lead or copper.
