Was at the meeting of CNY S.C.O.P.E. where the vote was taken to disband. Couldn’t vote as I was no longer a S.C.O.P.E. member in good standing.

The first time LEO comes for the guns they will kill your dogs, kick you to floor in front of your family and steal your firearms.

If politicians want to make laws confiscating our property then they should come to our doors and do their own bidding. If LEO wants to perform this task then for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.

It isn't going to be LEO's coming for guns. That's not what I meant. What I meant was that in order to take back your rights you have to take out politicians and those who protect them which happen to be cops. That isn't happening.
They'll legislate slowly. First Semi autos. You'll be mad but you aren't going to go around killing anybody. Then you'll die of natural causes and then it'll be bolt guns.

That's great! Hopefully it stops all gun control in it's tracks and I'm proven wrong. I doubt it though. But again, I hope I'm dead wrong. I have a hard time believing that Chucky or anyone like him will listen. Their minds aren't changing.

Its not about changing Schmucky Schumer's mind. Its about educating those who either don't have a clue or are on the fence. You don't fight on one front, you fight on all fronts. You bug the politicians, you take a coworker to the range, you write letter and make phone-calls, you make sure your friends register to vote and make it to the polls, you talk to your friends, neighbors and coworkers.

Please! Do you know how many times I've called Skelos's office and emailed him? And he was a so called republican.
In the end it is about changing Chucky's mind whether you agree with that or not. He's the one that's going to vote on it. They don't follow what their constituents want. I've taken 2 co-workers from the city shooting. Guess what? They still vote Democrat for other reasons. Some on this very forum do too. Republicans voted for the safe act.
Don't give me that nonsense that I'm sitting on the sidelines. I've done it and realized it gets you nowhere. Maybe someday, you will too. The rest of the country is pro gun. Yet states keep falling. Why? Why hasn't the Supreme Court ruled on this yet? Why hasn't the republican Congress passed anything? Why hasn't Trump recinded executive orders on gun control? Why haven't republican counties in our state gotten to get rid of restricted licenses when their constituents are mainly republican?
I know you know what I write here is correct. You still hold on to hope however. I'm done. I'm a realist. If you feel like wasting your time, that's fine. It doesn't hurt me any. But don't push me to waste my time. It's a done deal and gun control is already in the works.
No amount of talking to anyone here in this state is going to convince a Circuit Court judge to rule justly to get rid of the safe act. No amount of talking to anyone here in this state is going to stop a senator from California on voting yes and sending a gun control bill to a Democrat President's desk when he or she is in power. And no amount of talking is going to make the media honest. Once you come to grips with that, you'll see things a little clearer.

You realize this is a fight that will never end, right?
Even if the NFA, GCA, un-SAFE law and every other piece of anti-gun legislation went away today, we'd still have to fight to keep the antis at bay. They're not going to go away, so we can't stop either.

I know what has to be done but realistically, I know it isn't going to happen. And it isn't writing a congressman or educating a liberal in NYS.

If you've got any ideas for a better way to improve things - besides the take out politicians/kidnap cops/revolution nonsense - I'd love to hear it.

No it's lost because politicians and judges refuse to support and defend the Constitution. They don't care what the people that they represent want. All they care about is power.
But who knows. Maybe you are right and one phone call from me to Schumer and Gillebrand will change everything.

Actually, the dinner went well. I am meeting up again in a couple of weeks.

I do not care about the SAFE Act. None at all. It is going to be a cold day in hell that that goes away. My goal is too assist in slowing down what is coming.
BTW, I do not insinuate anything. I say what what I mean, if you perceive my meanings incorrectly, that is on you.
I guess overall, I am tired of listening to gun owners bitching and complaining all the while doing nothing to better things.
