I just wanted to gauge interest from any members in the WNY area in a tactical medicine course with EMS Tactical Group. It would be a 16 hr class (2 days), date and venue are TBD based on commitment. If you can make holes, you should probably know how to fill them too. Course description below.
Empowered and trained community members can serve a critical role as First Care Providers (FCP) during the initial moments after complex and dynamic disasters. These FCPs often have immediate access to severely injured victims and can provide time sensitive, life saving interventions; the FCP is the first link in the trauma chain of survival.
This course covers topics designed to decrease preventable death in a dynamic mass casualty situation.
At the core of the Civilian-1st care TECC program are two distinct phases. The phases are as follows:

- Direct Threat Care
- Care that is rendered while under attack or in adverse conditions.
- Indirect Threat Care
- Care that is rendered while the threat has been suppressed, but may resurface at any point.
