That's pretty cool. Always nice to have multiple ways to load the rifle. I'll have to check which 580 series my mini is. I want to say it's a 582, but I can't recall off hand.
For now I'm going to give Bear Flag Defense's ar15 loader a try for my fixed mag build.

My first Mini 14 was in 6.8 SPC! But if SHTF 223/5.56 will be the round more abundant so I picked-up a Ranch Rifle and a ARES SCR after that!

I was just thinking about a mini-30. I have no rifles bigger than 5.56. I’d love a M1a but to much $ for me.
My 14 jams a lot. It needs to go back to Ruger. How is your 30 preforming?
What ammo are you using? Never had a jam with any of my 3 Mini's!

The only issue I have with mine is when using steel cased ammo, for some reason it fails to strip a round from the magazine once or twice per magazine. No jamming or failure to feed, just failure to strip a round.
I never use steel-cased ammo! I split a 1000 rds of 62gr Wolf with a friend almost 18 yrs ago from Cabela's 500 rds and a plastic ammo can $64.50 ea with shipping, still have half of it left.

Works fine. We put an archangel stock on it. Shoots great, we used steel case Tula ammo.
.223 is a weaker round, it was made to wound and not kill. It travels fast which is cool and u can hold more. But it’s overrated as all hell
Are u shitting me? It would be the least abundant! People will steal that shit off the shelves in 2 seconds. Y’all love 223 but that will be the most expensive ammo when shit hits the fam because you all rely on it too much
And just how much 6.8SPC and 7.62x39 do you see on shelves now compared to 223/5.56

It depends on the ammo used. If using 55 gr, yes. If using 70 to 77 gr, no. 5.56mm of heavier grains produce much bigger wounds on flesh than a 7.62x39 would.

If it isn't terribly expensive, it works, it doesn't interfere with sights, etc., I see no reason why you wouldn't want one of these. What's the con (other than more doohickies and geegaws on your receiver)? If I had a mini and you gave me one I certainly wouldn't just throw it in a drawer.
