Anyone else use a MantisX?

I recently purchased a MantisX on Black Friday and I’m loving the dry fire training. I haven’t used it for live fire yet.

Anyone else use a MantisX and want to “friend” one another to compete/train? I’m competitive so having a person to compete/train with helps me and maybe you?

What the hell is an MantisX?

It’s a live fire, dry fire or CO2 trainer. It uses a gyroscope and accelerometer to determine if there are areas in your trigger take-up, pull and follow-through that can be improved.

I’ve found it to be really helpful in my dry-fire training since I’ve gotten it. I’ve improved my reload speed, time from reload to first shot, accuracy of follow up shots and just better groupings.

Absolutely if you attach the sensor to a magazine and NOT a picatinny rail.

I am however really thinking about one of these laser systems. The reviews for them, like laser lyte or itarget seem extremely good. Target shooting with your actual gun in the basement.

OpticPlanet.com had them for $109 on Black Friday. That’s what got me to pull the trigger, so to speak.

You could use this in conjunction with LaserLyte or other systems to acquire feedback on your accuracy from LaserLyte and biomechanical issues using MantisX.

If you’re just looking to train accuracy, LaserLyte will probably help more.

I read that you really wont or shouldnt find a "discount" as they tell dealers to stick to MSRP and they never lower it either...according to them and they're website...but can hurt to look...I would like one too but not for 150 bucks........im a cheapo maybe it pay 50 bucks...ha hahahaha

I picked up a 9mm laser cartridge off amazon some time last year. Very cool idea. I setup a target and used a selfie stick to hold my phone in place and it works very well

I got a used Mantis on Tacswap for $90 shipped. It looks new to me. If I don't like it, it'll be up for sale soon.

The LASR system so far is great. I ran through 9 or 10 of the exercises last night (was up too late!) and they're a lot of fun and some are very challenging. 2.5 seconds to turn 180 degrees, acquire and engage 4 targets with 2 shots each isn't easy, but it is a lot of fun. Especially so when I'm in my PJs, in my living room.

Damn. I do like the MantisX - my wife purchased it for me and I have no intention of getting rid of it but wow, the entire LASR setup looks like fun.

Got one as a gift. Used it on my shield and M&P for dry firing.

Picked up a rail and mag attachment for my shield and tried live fire for the first time yesterday, and I love it.

Feedback it gives about what your doing leading to and at the trigger break has far more value than just seeing where your laser is hitting on the bullseye.
