Anyone in Rensselaer County have an AR-15 pistol on their permit?

It was very painless. The ATF guy was great. He looked at the lower and I showed him I had the FC hook, Prince 50 and JB weld. He agreed that it was a fixed mag and after reviewing the safe act he said it was not an assault weapon and thus the regulations governing an assault weapon did not apply. At first he was concerned about the 50 oz weight and the handguard but after reading the stipulations in regards to a REMOVABLE mag he said this would not be restricted by those stipulations as it was a fixed mag,

Love the brace also, but a bit too pricey for me. Stock up on ear plugs, I had an 8" 556 with a brake and you'd think I was shooting a cannon.

It turns out that he is a member of the "law enforcement" division of ATF. He is not their regular ATF business/book examiner

Yea, but the ATF is in charge of federal law. While they are no doubt well versed in state law it is not his business. He gave the right answer, but he may not be authorized to do so.

Agreed but he was the guy that made the judge feel comfortable with his decision and that works for me!
