Only thing I know is they will all be fired. It looks pretty bad.
Context is key. Did he just mouth off to the cops or did they just find him raping a 5 year old?
To be clear in neither case is their behavior justified. I am curious what was behind the beating. Especially in this day and age.
AmenFrom the story....
When the officers confronted the man, he pushed a deputy to the ground and punched the back of his head, leading to the arrest seen in the video, police said.
It is a few months old. Officers were suspended...

Three law enforcement officers suspended over violent Arkansas arrest
Graphic footage posted to social media shows two county deputies and a police officer repeatedly striking a man while holding him on the ground.www.abc.net.au
"When the officers confronted the man, he pushed a deputy to the ground and punched the back of his head, leading to the arrest seen in the video, police said."
So that makes it ok for the 3 assholes beat the shit out of him? At one point it even looked like they smashed his head into the cement.
This kind of shit is what makes people call out 'defund the police'.
I think this would go for anyone who has your back. Wife, brother, friend like a brother. Not sure if anyone said it was okay to beat the man down, just posted a line from the story that I posted to answer the question of the OP.
I will say this, may the gods look out for a person on the street that attacks an officer that I am partnered up with.
In todays day and age there is no way this doesn’t go too far and I agree with it. They don’t even look as if they are trying to cuff the guy just beat the shit out of him. This goes too far IMO.Context is key. Did he just mouth off to the cops or did they just find him raping a 5 year old?

While I agree with (as Curtis Sliva would say) sometimes a wooden shampoo is warrented. We called it mag-light therapy. In this day and age you need to be more restrained. Every arrest can lead to riots and officers no longer get the support of their superiors or even the public. The beat down may make you feel good but is it worth your career, your nest egg, your pension or your freedom.
Pressure points and joint manipulation can be a bitch.
What about an officer on the street who attacked your wife ?Not sure if anyone said it was okay to beat the man down, just posted a line from the story that I posted to answer the question of the OP.

Well, sounds like the guy deserved to go to jail for assault, and the cops too in this case.Gotta be mores specific.
I stay on target of the conversation.
This is about a meth head that attacked an officer.
We, you, can start a topic of innocent people being attacked by the police.
Lots of videos of that
Well, sounds like the guy deserved to go to jail for assault, and the cops too in this case.
Probably some other charges for the cops too.
My question was related to your comment about backing your partner.
While that's generally commendable, it shouldn't extend to extra judicial punishment like this. So what would you do if your partner was still beating some guy who was obviously fully under control ?
I'm not even talking George Floyd kneeling on him to maintain control, but actively beating him.
You speak a lot about cameras. As I stated in a different post in this thread, I use the knowledge that I have as well as all of the training that I have received.
While going through training, we are spoken to about cameras being everywhere. We have them, the public has them and most businesses have them. I know this. I am trained in the use of many different types of cameras. I would absolutely not be pounding on this guy the way they were. Most that I work closely with, would be handling this situation much better. We are trained to know and understand where cameras are and where they are not.
We/I have extensive training that I would employ that does not include punching and kicking and stomping. I have ways to instill terror into those that I come into contact with.
I am not condoning the actions of these officers, not at all. Not just because of their tactics, they have training and they allowed themselves to fall prey to their emotions and their feelings. Those need to be shut off and controlled.
What context would make that behavior ok?Context is key. Did he just mouth off to the cops or did they just find him raping a 5 year old?

That depends, what is that officer doing?I will say this, may the gods look out for a person on the street that attacks an officer that I am partnered up with.

I would hope as a government official you would behave the same whether you think you are being recorded or not. Whether you think it will become public or not.
That is the basic definition if integrity, doing the right thing whether you think someone is watching or not.
If the training we are giving officers is about what you can be filmed doing, I think we really need to re-think that whole curriculum.
It should be about doing the right thing whether it's on camera or not.
