I already leveled off an RV sized spot down by the road for the next time you stop by It's unambiguously not on public property though.

I've also cleared up that corner a bit. If you did want to park at the top, I think things would go much easier leaving next time

We have spent literally thousands of nights on BLM (Both long term and short term ), NF, wildlife refuges, Corps of engineers etc.
We sold the MH seven years ago, so laws may have changed since. Even in California the RV was our domicile while we were at the
spot where we would be sleeping. The CA law even said it was legal at my "camping area". This included even remote places along the highway that was BLM. Nothing official or even designated or marked with signs. Even in CA I was legal to have my firearm loaded and at the ready while domiciled. As soon as the MH moved and headed to the highway it became a motor vehicle and was no longer my domicile. I tried to get the CA AG to define how large an area my campsite wasconsidered. They would never give me an answer. Therefore, when ever I went hiking away from my camping area I was illegal if I carried a firearm with me. Of course, as soon as I crossed the Colorado River into Arizona everything changed.
i.e. sitting at my site in CA armed, start MH and head to AZ which is 1/2 mile away weapon needs to be in locked area, unloaded and not readily available, Cross into AZ 2 minutes after departing and sidearm can go back into holster loaded and ready to use.
It got crazy trying to stay on top of all the firearms laws while traveling.

The vehicle exception is based on the notion that the object to be searched can up and leave while they're getting a warrant. That is not a concern with a fixed residence.

So, while vehicle exceptions are bullshit, since an RV is no less portable than a car, I think you'll be SOL.

So, since the wheels and axles are still under my mobile home it's considered a car?

Now that would be epic, including vacation rentals, since to me that implies no restrictions across state lines.

I stayed at hotels for 20 years traveling for work. Was told when getting a room at a hotel it was considered your domicile and covered as private property while staying there.

It makes sense, it’s no different than leasing or renting an apartment.
