I am new here I would like to buy an AR 15 before a possible presidential change
BCM RECCE 14 with magazine adapted for the laws of new york
any idea how to do it?

Unfortunately I do not remember the size/thread pitch for the nut. I just took the mag catch with me and found something that threaded on without jamming. I also grabbed a small washer as well so the nut didn't dig into the lower.

No other parts needed. The original mag button and spring are in a small ziplock bag in my desk.


I specifically chose a mag with a removable base plate to help if I needed to clear a jam (on the advice of people here on the forum).


only thing I really would like is a rear takedown pin with a ring attached, for easier loading. But, as this is a range toy (for now), I'm not too worried.

Thordsen and thread protector for the win.

I enjoy being able to reload without extra steps. I also like being able to go home with my rifle if ever I'm confronted by law enforcement. If you're accustomed to rifles, Thorsden stock is not an issue.

Depends on who you ask.

There is no official answer.

The only place "permanent" exists in the SAFE act is in respect to altering a normal magazine to only hold 10 rounds.

Makes it non detachable. Law doesn't say anything about epoxy. As has been said, that doesn't mean the police won't take it away from you.

Or the court rules what you had didn't fall within the law and you are now out all that money and caught a felony. But more than likely you plead down to a misdemeanor
