I don't have a lockable storage area. Closest thing I have to a seperate storage area is under my bunk. Would a lockable case do? @Airborneguy, @GOPerfect, wanna weigh in?

It only says inaccessible. There are no examples. What inaccessible means is up to your interpretation.I don't have a lockable storage area. Closest thing I have to a seperate storage area is under my bunk. Would a lockable case do? @Airborneguy, @GOPerfect, wanna weigh in?
If its locked in a box you can't get to from the drivers seat, I can't see them arguing it.It only says inaccessible. There are no examples. What inaccessible means is up to your interpretation.
The way I see it, if it's locked in a box and they can't open it without breaking the box, it's inaccessible. Just hide the key.
Official company policy is that having arms in the truck is grounds for immediate and unceremonious termination. So if it was truly important to you in your journeys across our country, to just get a storage box that locks and put it in the back of your truck??

What other statement did I make that wasn't true?Well then, that there is a different excuse then the first one you gave. At least this ones probably true

How ami I supposed to do that with no guns? I have to drive through ban states all the time. Not to mention that most of the time I have only time to eat and sleep, and in those ocassuins wherebI do have extra down time its not likely therenisna range nearby. I would like to head to SLC and takeba daynto check the new, super fancy indoor range out there though.
At no point could I bring my NY naughty AR into NYS.
"The exceptions to this rule apply mainly to transportation of handguns and so-called “assault weapons.”
He's making perfect sense to me. I can understand gobbstopper. The hell are you on about? @4excal?

And what would that be? Serious question.Inaccessible according to the officer if pulled over, not in the opinion of the driver.

So it's a guessing game hence what the driver's interpretation is. The driver can only do what he thinks he can do.Serious answer, depends on the officer and the attitude of the driver.

I agree with a lot of what you say. Just not 2 particular things. Informing and the chamber.Lol! Yayyy! We agree!! (this time at least I'm chucking out some facts and not just wisecracker remarks)

I have a simpler and less elegant philosophy- "I spent a metric ass-ton on my guns soes I can't afford to not take care of em!"ARs like to run clean and wet.
This doesn't mean that they cannot run dirty.
But, if one doesn't care to clean their firearm, whatever that might be, is probably because a problem or stoppage is not that critical
and his/her life or other's lives do not depend on it.
And remember, like an old wise samurai once said...who cleans the house, cleans the spirit.
See, this is my point! I'm s'posed to risk my livelihood and very liberty on a crapshoot?Inaccessible according to the officer if pulled over, not in the opinion of the driver.

I will say that when I get pulled over I am particularly obsequious with the officer.
