It seems like you could develop some type of rotary mag for an ar that could be topped off continuously like a Krag rifle or a Johnson 1941. Some type of small drum mag with 10 rds but built with some sort of denial mechanism that prevents loading the neck part that goes in the well.

my friend just got the 2 he order months and months ago finally .. they work and are slick .. I even tried it on his AR 300BO a few hours ago ...
.. not hard at all to push them in at all .. after you push them in and pull the loader BAM!!! bolt releases and and your ready to rock n roll ..

I don't really get it either. Well I do actually, but I think its silly. Maybe have a fixed mag as the second AR.The rifle looking cool is priority to having a second magazine though.

With a little practice a guy could probably load faster than swapping out mag's. Heck, if they made them to fit a left hand 6.8 I'd buy a dozen of them, but then, I do see the point.
