Beacon is about 15 - 20 minutes to the station from here but I'd plan 30 for parking etc.

I will say this- we looked at a fricking absolutely beautiful house way up on the hill in (Town of) Newburgh with views all the way down the river to the city, overlooking Bannerman's, etc.

It was basically under contract by the time we got home from the viewing.

I have a great seasonal view of the Quassaick Creek as it comes out of Algonquin Park.

@mgunner or anyone else, close to shopping, walk to the park, easy commuter location, 3/2, first floor laundry, .... but I digress.

Thank you for the offer but we were looking in Putnam because she works in the city and would be taking the train everyday. Since we're on the subject, do you know how long it takes the train to travel from Orange county to NYC?

Depending on where you are in Orange County, it could take 10 to 30 minutes to to travel to Beacon train station. I’m in Washingtonville and it takes me 17 minutes. From Beacon station it then takes 1 hour and a half to get to Grand Central Station.

There is a Metro North on the Orange County side of the river but it is unreliable with fewer trains. Mostly everyone just drives over the bridge to Beacon.

before pandemic I traveled to NYC from Orange County everyday. I also got unrestricted pistol permit first time. I live in Orange County.
travel to NYC via bus was about an hour and 40 min.
