Ares SCR or FightLight SCR 9mm Question

Hey all, has anyone tried to convert their SCR into a 9mm??
I have seen all the hardware for the swap like drop in conversion blocks for the AR15's magwells, full 9mm uppers, buffer springs with buffer and special 9mm mags.
I have seen it on a regular AR but has anyone don't this with the SCR??
I want to try but don't want to waste money that can be used on something worth while.

Well if the 9mm upper comes with the bolt carrier group shouldn't it be ok? Ahhh but the BCG for the SCR seems to be shorter.

there's your issue, the scr uses a proprietary bolt to work with the Monte stock.

Damn, I wonder if you can take a bolt apart and just swap out the part that comes into contact with the cartridge? Swap that from the 223/556 to the 9mm.

i dont think so, arent most 9mm bolts single pieces.

9mm ARs typically use non locking straight blowback bolts. Completely different from a 5.56 bolt.

You could break out the chop saw and grinder to modify the 9mm bolt. Better buy a spare incase you slip up though.

They use a proprietary bolt carrier. The bolts are your standard AR bolts.

Does Ares still exist? this seems like a pretty simple kit to offer. Then again they would probably have to tune it to work with the existing recoil spring and that may be difficult.

Well you might not want to do that before figuring out how you can modify the recoil system for the 9mm

They were bought out but the SCR is still being offered by the new company. I wish they would hurry up and do a 308 version.

Yay! SCR is the best NY option I think. A 9mm should definitely be done.
