In the article it says a senior witnessed the deputy standing outside talking on his radio. I would guess if the student didn't say anything we'd not hear this. Maybe he spoke out to the right people.

That is entirely possible. But I offer an alternative: once the smoke cleared, the dept started sorting details and realized they had gotten all kinds of warnings about the shooter and had ignored them and on top of that one of their deputies hid outside the school instead of doing his job during the shooting. So the brass at the sheriffs dept is realizing how bad they fucked up and either want to see what they can sweep under the rug or see how long they can keep this info from getting out because they know there will be huge backlash.

What was his training? What was department policy? Maybe he did exactly what training and policy dictated. That sleazy sheriff is quick to debase anyone that even hints at making him look bad.
That was a combat situation, how many cops are trained for combat. Unless they got it in the Army or Marines, they aren't. Hell, I got way more training and experience in weaponry and tactics for that scenario, but, not being a super citizen am not allowed to Arm myself to the degree that the Fife's are.

The sheriff is taking credit for "going in". The Resource officer stayed outside, other sheriffs showed up and they REMAINED OUTSIDE, Coral Springs officers showed up and immediately assaulted the building, they were "shocked" to see the sheriff's outside, ARMED WHILE BEHIND THE CARS doing nothing
Sheriff Israel is claiming it was his team that entered first, CSPD is pissed he is taking credit for the capture of the shooter ( I refuse to write that shitheads name)
I suspect Sheriff Isreal will announce his retirement by the end of next week, as he is on the hot seat for DOING NOTHING when he is the one guy that could have prevented this entire tragedy
