I believe a year or so ago.....NY has a law pertaining to cursing a Police Officer. The "reporter" , in My eyes, is a punk who believes he can say anything or do anything. I'm glad he got busted and 2 thumbs up for the Cops. He was warned politely...and now he has to answer for shooting his mouth off. A Person should not have to bow to authority, but should respect it until it's disrespects that person. Plus by being a smart @$$...He tested the Cops and found out the hard way, they have all the leverage. A costly " F@%k this" I'd say.

After watching the video and looking deeper, the cops were within their rights it appears.
Police can order you to leave private property.....or.......order you to leave if you are impeading traffic or a PARADE.
It seems from further research that he was trying to impede the path of the parade and refused to leave an enterance to a driveway, impeding traffic.
Laws are laws, you dont need to like them, but you do need to follow them.

It looks like they police were telling him to keep out of the road during the parade. The "reporter" didn't like what he was being told and then started cursing at the police.

I'm not sure I saw him go back into the road. But, I did see him resisting arrest once the police made the decision to arrest him.

Bottom line: All the "reporter" had to do was get out of the road and go about his business. But...he wanted to start something. If the police really decided to arrest a citizen for "language" that was not a threat, then the police were acting unconstitutionally.

I just snuck in the video while on my bathroom break. They told him to get out of the street and he moved. He was in front of the driveway and moved to the corner of the sidewalk.

Bullshit arrest. I hereby reinstate my Antifa comment.

Yeah, morally and constitutionally a BS arrest. Legally, there is an anti-swearing ordnance on the books there so they're covered.

Thing is, seeing as he works for Shareblue, I highly doubt that he's gonna stand up for you if you're arrested under the SAFE Act. I'm all out of fucks to give for people who are too blind to see "us versus them" isn't about red and blue or left and right. If cuffs and some bruises help him down the road to epiphany, good.

They told him if he cursed again,he would be arrested. If someone was cursing at you, you'd most likely want to punch them in the chops...this is not a first ammendmend issue...it's called being civil and acting like an adult rather than a 13 year old flexing their testosterone. He got spanked for being stupid...you can't fix stupid

He broke the law, plain and simple.

Fairfax County Code 5-1-1 says that “if any person profanely curse or swear or be drunk in public he shall be deemed guilty of a Class 4 misdemeanor.”

He was charged accordingly, charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

As someone said earlier, you do not have to like all of our laws, but you need to follow them. If you do not, bad things may happen.

Not sure if this arrest will actually end up in court, regardless, the Police were within their scope.

It's not the First...it's a refusal to a reasonable request. Some people just hate the Police. @$$holes who refuse to act civil just as a child should be corrected for bad behavior. Maybe the reporter had bad potty training.

That sounds jackbootish to me. So a guy with 11 rounds broke the law. Lock him up. Next week when they ban revolvers. Lock him up. It's the law. The week after when they require you to wear a star on your jacket. Lock him.

Since you've become a cop, your whole line of thinking has changed. You weren't like this back at Gander. I don't know you anymore.

Don't read to far into this, nary a once did I say I supported the actions. I only stated fact! Did he, or did he not break a law? The answer is yes. He broke a local law as well as resisted arrest.

Those are the facts, not opinions.

I like the part when the cops ask people to stop filming saying the job is "hard enough". Then they try to scare people into not filming. He got to close to the royals parade transportation. This was a BS arrest.

"The incident began when a police officer asked him to stay away from a van carrying Gillespie as the parade was about to begin"
