I currently own a Sig P320 which I have about 1200 round through and I have been impressed with. I really need to get my hands on one of these X-Series in the future. SIG has really put some serious innovations in their recent offerings. Good to see. Personally I think Glock needs to step up their game. They are behind the curve in innovations.

I agree. I really wish I would have waited. I love the x series P320 and would have loved to handle it. I also really like the SW MP 2.0 and if they improved the trigger that would be a fantastic gun. Oh well I'm done for now except a .22 pistol.

Night and day. Not that I am complaining about the stock 320 trigger but the flat trigger is world's above.

What do you mean by innovation? A cut on a slide? Other than modular backstraps, Glock hasn't changed their design because it works.

I'm no fanboy. I only like the 26/27 size for carry or the 19/23 for duty. All the other single stacks and extra large guns they make are for the birds.

No. 17 and 43 are useless in my opinion. You can conceal a 26 just as well as a 43 and get more rounds. The 17 does nothing the 19 doesn't do except hinder the ability for concealment when needed.

43 would seem more comfy for summer shorts and a tshirt carry. for a duty gun, ie unconcealed, why not have the biggest frame with the highest capacity? 10rnd limit renders that last point moot though.

I wear a 26 with form fitting t shirts and shorts. It's all about the cant angle of the holster. The 43 is only a 1/4 inch thinner in the grip. Whatever issues one has with the 26, one will have with the 43.

As far as the 17 goes, 2 extra rounds (15 vs 17) and the half inch longer barrel isn't going to make a difference in actual street usage but it makes a huge difference in concealed carry compared to the 19.

That's my opinion.

There is a reason for the cut on the slide along with weight in the grip and a removable plate for an optic along with a set of great sights and a flat trigger in which competition shooters use and also a crown barrel. Sorry for the run on sentence. Yes Glocks go bang.

I have couple of Sigs, and a Glock. I have no problem at all with either manufacturer, and I couldn't agree more with your assessment on why Glock lost! If you're going to reply to an RFP, at least do so with a product that meets the criteria! Seems pretty simple to me.

They didn't win because of the manual safety. Plain and simple. The military doesn't trust it's troops to go around without manual safeties. The modularity wasn't a factor. They don't go around changing calibers. Spec Ops might go around changing calibers but the rank and file troops need to use NATO ammunition.

The modularity is not about caliber changes from what I have read.

In the grand scheme of things, it really doesn't matter if the Military EVER uses the manual safety, or modularity. If the RFP called for both of those options in the specifications, and a manufacturer didn't offer them, then the originator of the RFP can reject them. Whether the options ever get used after the fact is inconsequential, as long as the item is manufactured with the options.
