I think it is funny some of the responses. I take this kind of stuff pretty seriously.
I live in a pretty good area; I have a gun in each bathroom (2). At least one in the bedroom. I have a gun in the living room and one in the kitchen. Not to mention the one that I carry.
Eh.. Only one roll and a front-butt. Amateur hour! Here we go again eh? ....
My Father and his wife gave me one of those for Christmas last year...
I guess that people like you and I must be the paranoid ones.
Guys!! What if you have to defend yourself from underwater in the bathtub? You need a specialty weapon for that!
I wear body armor in the house when I sleep. You just never know.
My wife asked me why I have a gun in every room once. I asked her,if I was in the bathroom while she was in the living room and someone kicked in either the front or rear door; would she like me to have a gun to be able to fight to her position or would she like me to fight to her position to get a gun?
I don't know about that. There have been numerous random home invasions in the last two years quite close to where I live. If I remember correctly, two of them right in Orchard Park, a place where nobody would consider a bad area by any means. Actually, if you think of quaint, perfect little towns, OP is it. With the recent uptick in heroin related crime, even kids from "good" and affluent families and areas are resorting to this type of crime. Not gonna hedge my bets that my house will be one that's overlooked just by chance. I'll be ready. Paranoid or not.If I were in a war zone or worked as a drug dealer then I'd understand living in a paranoid, constantly armed state... if I had restraining orders against people and crazy gangs stalking me then sure, understandable... but for most people they simply aren't getting random home invasions. How many have happened in your area?
You could buy a better door.
You could have a dog - canine early warning system.
And you could use some of the gun money to move to a safer location.
If I had to live in fear of getting attacked while I'm on the shitter then the problem isn't whether I can grab a gun soon enough... it's that I'm getting attacked in first place. Gotta change that situation and the simplest thing to do is move. Far away!
I have several HD guns and have trained and run scenarios but the number one things for me are prevention and avoidance.

an 870 would probably rust just from hearing the word "bathroom", never mind the humidity and damp.Pretty Shitty place to store a GUNNN!
I will put this out there once. I think guys who walk around everywhere with body armor on (not counting work) are excessive so I'm a Fudd too.Right, I think it's stupid to need a gun to take a shit in my own house so now I'm a FUDD.
Wabbits!

No worries.
So I'm not the only one who keeps an old GP5 in my SHTF bag.Hey, body armor can be stylish too. There apparently is a thing they're calling armorini. Survive sniper attacks and look great while doing it!
Body Armor + Fashion Design = Armorni?

I'd like to know about these home invasions in "nice" areas. Were their doors locked? Were they Columbians related to cartel members? There's usually a backstory our lovely journalists miss.
