Amazon is showing some ''used '' ones for $400.00 ish range...............not looking to buy yet, but I wonder what ''used'' could mean ? Gonna check Bushnell's warranty.

Just checked Bushnell's site they offer a no questions asked warranty on a select few scopes including Elite Tactical....so if I bought a screwd up one for $400.00 and send it back, they fix or replace (this is a TRANSFERABLE warranty)................MUST.............RESIST...............I'll think about it while I'm shovelling!!
I haven't actually shot with it yet but during my initial inspection of my new DI Optical EG1 I managed to bobble it high in the air and it bounced of the stove and onto the floor. I had just unboxed it, yes I am the most hamfisted clutz you will ever meet. Other than a tiny gouge in the top rear edge it seems to be fine. I still run backup sights though if for no other reason than I still enjoy shooting irons from time to time. And the basic MBUS are cheap enough and light enough that as long as they fit around/under the optic why not have them?

Good to hear that Bushnell has a quality warranty. I have purchased used/ factory reconditioned Nikon scopes because of their warranty.
I've already looked at some other optics and I might just end up going with Nikons P-223/ 3x32 if I decide to go with a scope.

I think the polymer MBUS are something like $70 front and rear and they are plenty tough and usable. And if you suck with a milspec trigger than a fancy dancy trigger is just a bandaid. Learn to shoot irons, learn to shoot with the gritty, creepy mil trigger. I did install the Hiperfire EDT in my AR. Haven't shot it yet but in dryfire it seems very good. I am concerned that the reset doesn't feel as strong or positive.

BUT Bushnells lifetime warranty covers either fix or replace.............so even if it's fucked, send it in and get a new or fixed one !! DOH !

No, to be truthful I didn't . I don't really have an interest in anything made by Bushnell . I don't particularly care for that reticle , personally.

i have back up sights on my rifles for a couple reasons:
-my first rifle came with them
-i did a clone build that required a specific rear sight and i wanted to be as correct as possible
-i want my GF and my future kids to all learn how to use iron sights, (i started her out with a red dot but eventually she will learn to use irons)
-the clone uses a 600m rear sight and i want to see how good i can get with iron sights at longer distances
notice none of my reasons are "if my optic goes down", "if my batteries die", or any other what if scenarios.
my HD rifle has a browe BCO on it, if i break a titanium RCO chances are the rifle will be thoroughly dicked as well.
there was a pic online a couple of days ago of a rental gun (colt expanse) that suffered an OOB detonation that completely ruined the upper, broke the bolt, bolt carrier and peeled the top rail up like a banana peel. the aimpont had a cracked lens....and still worked.
TL;DR: if you buy a quality optic, you and your rifle will die long before that optic fails you.

i know, but i taught her with my .22lr plinking upper...and as blasphemous as this may seem to some, it has not iron sights on it, just a vortex sparc II.
she enjoyed it so much she decided she wants her own, mission accomplished.
