Benelli M1 super 90

A friend of mine offered me a Benelli M1 super 90 imported under H&K. It’s set up for a 3 gun competition with extended bolt and bolt release, normal stock, and ghost ring sights. It looks like it’s in very good condition. He wants $800 for it. Has an extra firing pin, extended mag tube, three choke tubes, and ghost ring sights. I want it for bird hunting, rabbit, squirrel, and turkey. I know the ghost ring sights are probably great for turkey and deer, but not for other small game. I was thinking I could just remove the rear ring and use the front post for small game. What do you all think? Good deal? Right for the application? Seems like the price is right on with what they are selling for.

Looks to be in good condition. Breech looks a bit dirty, but I’m sure I can clean it up.

Buds carries it new for $850 without ghost ring or extension tube. Sounds like a good deal and a great 3GUN setup.

too many scratches and dirty for my liking for that kind of money.. I'd think you could go new for just a bit more..
all the extras never mean shit to me on used toys.. that's money usually you don't get back when selling..

I would go with a versamax. About $850 new. ShootsWAY softer and eats all ammo no problem.

I really dont think he would screw me. He’s like a leader at my church. I just think it’s pretty used and abused and not really what I want for small game hunting. For $200 more I can get a new gun that’s set up better for my use.

I looked at and really liked the Benelli Montfeltro. What do you think of that gun?

Perfect. Then a few boxes of ammo should be fun to shoot to see if you like the benneli action. Let us know how it functions with skeet loads and heavy loads. Mix and match too. Should be fun.

I have not used the gun you asked about. But i can say the versa max shoots far softer than any benneli i have ever used. And the versa max eats everything, i can not say that about benneli.

FWIW i use a benneli vinci for 3 gun. Next time it will be a versamax.
