Great video, thought I'd share it here.
@dsdmmat Donut Master??? WTF?
I have a whole house electrified floor and family wears rubber sole shows. Someone breaks in, I just flip a switch.
Ok, for real, pump action shotgun. So many reasons. If its dark, you don't have to worry about aiming as much. Penetration, if you have other family members in the house, less of a chance of shooting through walls and hitting a loved one. When I took my pistol permit course, the instructor shut off the lights in the room and said, "imagine you are an intruder in a house." We then heard a quiet click. Then we heard the sound of a pump action shotgun. He then asked, "how would you react to each of those sounds?" Obviously most in the class said, "I would run like hell at the sound of the pump." The instructor said, exactly. If you have to shoot someone, kill them but, never ever ever ever shoot someone unless it is absolutely necessary. Even if you are in the right, the legal ramifications will most likely ruin you. You are always better off scaring them off but, if it doesn't work, you are still holding one hell of a great home defense weapon.
Your right 45acp FTW.Pistol calibered carbine. Low noise, no concussion, no flash, no recoil, and accurate for precision shots when needed unlike a shotgun.

Anyone who teaches you that the sound of a pump gun getting its action racked will scare away the bad guys is a fool.I have a whole house electrified floor and family wears rubber sole shows. Someone breaks in, I just flip a switch.

Get a 9mm or .40 S&W AR. Problem solved.I used to rely on the 590A1 for home defense but after seeing numerous demonstrations of 5.56 not presenting any greater over penetration risks vs handgun rounds I now keep the AR under the bed. It is lighter and shorter than the Mossberg and even assuming NY restrictions still has a capacity advantage as well. The fact I have access to standard capacity mags makes it a no brainer to me. The only downside I see to the AR in the home is the extremely loud report and large flash. Sometimes I still go with the 590 though.

Best gun for home defense is the one you happened to be holding at the time.
Another clueless person. Everyone knows a AK in 5.56 is the best option!Another dude that thinks the AR platform is the best for everything
Meh, I half deef anyways, I'd rather have 5.56 power.Get a 9mm or .40 S&W AR. Problem solved.
