Best option/mag lock or spur & ny triggerguards ?

7 in a ten round magazine was ruled unconstitutional by Judge Skretney in the appeals court of Western NY. It then was reaffirmed by the 2nd Circuit Appeals Court which is the highest court before the Supreme Court to also be unconstitutional. It now applies to the entirety of NY, CT, and VT.

NYS has not updated Penal Law 265 yet to reflect it because confusion creates compliance to a nonexistent law that could no longer be enforced.

It has been updated in the NYSP Safe Act handbook though. I had a copy of it a couple years back but I don't know what the hell happened to it. Also instructs them they can not round count without probable couse of crime.

I’m going to probably look more into this, but to be clear, based on what you are saying, one can have 10 in 10, according to the law as it’s understood currently?

Same way I load it but the opposite.

Gun on safe, pop the rear take down pin, upper comes off (well folds forward) then I can thumb each round out of the magazine.

Or, since we are talking about hunting and how a full featured fixed mag is some how not ideal and so much worse than a detachable mag featurless (granted this a pistol) I pop both take down pins separate the upper and the lower, eject the round that's in the chamber and pack everything up to head home with the ammo still in the lower ready to go for the next morning

Was going to say this earlier. Same with me, pistol build so it can stay loaded. Also like I said earlier, I have a compmag so I can just release spring tension and they all fall out side of magazine. Really don't understand all the hate, only real downside other than a rare chance for a jam is having to buy the loaders if you want to speed load.

And no matter what anyone says regarding those mag loaders, you have to do them perfectly for them to work properly. They require finer motor skills compared to a regular magazine reload. People fumble regular magazine reload under fire and stress.

When used with the Lancer mag as recommended, a reload takes a blink of an eye. Just jam the loader in and you're done. Smooth and effortless. Have you actually used the setup as described by the manufacturer? Yes very fine motor skills are indeed needed. Just the way a standard magazine will not insert in backwards or upside down, the speed loader also needs to be oriented properly. Follow the directions, set it up properly, and practice. Spare loaders are pre-loaded and carried in the same manner as spare mags would be.

Fixed mag is for looks. There is no other way to slice it. We all know why everyone does it and you know why you do it if you do it. Lets be real here.

Even while hunting it isn’t ideal. When you have to unload to pack up and go home, you either have to chamber and extract every single round and put a dimple in the primer or pop open the magazine from the bottom and pull the guts out. All that could be avoided with a Thordsen but some cannot get past the looks so they will handicap themselves further than what the law says that they have to for looks.

I agree. The mag loaders some of them look very good for what they are, but the idea that anybody would use one in a fight is lunacy.
