organ donor registry program, but after hearing from the community, I have
decided not to move forward with the proposal at this time. It is true that
switching from an opt-in program to an opt-out program significantly
increases the participation of organ donors, but it's also true that the
program only works when it has public support. A public education campaign
would need to be carried out before an effort like this could proceed. New
York State has the third longest waiting list for organs in the country,
while also having the lowest registry enrollment percentage of any state in
the union.

I'm glad this bill has started a statewide conversation about the importance
of organ donation. We need to remember that over 9,500 people are on the
waiting list for organs in New York and we must do better as a state to give
those individuals a chance at life.

Dear Mr. Burke ,

I appreciate that you recognize that public disapproval will sink a misguided proposal, however I 100% disagree with your idea that the corrective for this is to undertake a massive government propaganda effort at taxpayer expense.

Illegal immigration comes to mind, with 72% opposed, even after years of a full court press by the political class and the media, telling us not believe our lying eyes. MS-13 is not a joke, nor is the strain on all our social programs stemming from this politically self serving policy.

Similarly, the Second Amendment has been under attack for the last 30 years or so, yet there is no meaningful change in the attitude of actual people, no matter what you are telling yourselves in the Albany echo chamber. Take a look at so called “assault rifle” registrations as an indicator of the efficacy of the anti-Constitutional stance taken by this state through the SAFE Act, and then look at legal gun sales. Epic fail.

While you are at it, you might want to reacquaint yourself with the idea that the Constitution is actually the supreme law of the land, and spells out the method by which it may be amended. Nowhere do the words "democracy" or "popularity" appear in that detailed method. Until the Constitution is properly amended, it remains the supreme law of the land, thus unconstitutional acts remain, well, unconstitutional.

Please explain to your constituents and the rest of the public whether you will accept their judgement, or are you fully committed to gaslighting us as you indicated above? An honest answer would be appreciated, as we are entering primary season, but I’m not going to hold my breath.

Organs, I'm a window contractor, about 2 years ago I did work for a guy on the inside of the scam. What ever you give away is sold.
