This makes me very angry to watch. The fact that these scumbags are allowed to close down public roads, with guns, and menacing motorists is insane. Police arent going to do anything about it, and a lone armed citizen doesnt stand a chance against a mob of armed thugs, so thebonly logical response is rapid response team of armed citizens. When reports of road blocks like this are heard, large groups of trained, armed citizens need to respond with surprise, speed and violence of action to shut these criminals down.

Agreed, exiting the vehicle was a bad move. Given the circumstances he should have used more discretion. Although it looked like he was blocked in, and if he tried to accelerate the people carrying rifles likely would have unloaded on him.
That's why being part of a network of armed trained citizens is important. If you find yourself in a situation like that you call the team, not the police.

There was plenty of room in the first shot, might have scraped a little on the outside cars but I really don't think they would have opened fire. Maybe I'm wrong, but they certainly would not have been justified in doing so.

For arguments sake, if he had the room then he should have floored it and squashed anyone in the way to get out safely. But i guarantee that they would have opened fire on him.

I don't care what or who is going to try and justify attacking me. I'm going into flight or fight mode if I'm in a situation like this, and I'm going to use every ounce of my will and energy to survive. Don't really care what the aftermath brings, just want to live.

Was thinking the same thing. Rambo is fiction. Tactically a poor move to get out of a vehicle like that while surrounded by hostiles. Why engage like that when almost certain safety was the press of a pedal away?

1) Never get out of the vehicle. 3000# of mobile steel can be used as defensive tactical retreat, foreword and reverse.
2) The handgun is the back up weapon.
3) Once physically assaulted, dump the mag.
4) Carry spare mags.

I usually stay away from here because when someone says something that is either not completely true or is entirely not true and I post a correction including indispensable evidence right from the official source, they have a temper tantrum and fly off the handle.

Think fast, act quick. Do not allow them to get sight alignment. The farther and faster you put distance between them the less chance they'll have of a hit. Learn to act instinctively. Be violent and swift in your actions. No mercy, no quarter. Treat them like the terrorist they are. At the first hint of trouble floor the damn vehicle. Anything you can do to throw their plan off is to your advantage.
Don’t drive like a blind idiot. Look at what is happening around you. Look up ahead and behind you. Do not stop right up behind another vehicle. Leave yourself room to get out. Lines painted on the road and curbs will not prevent your vehicle from moving. Neither will someone’s nicely manicured grass. Get the hell out of there by any means necessary.

I always practice the rule of leaving enough room in front of me for a turn out. I also evaluate what obstacles are in the way to determine what can be driven through and what will stop me.

I would expect my vehicle to take some hits, I see the little pricks as undisciplined and would take my chances in a spray and pray attacker situation. Look at the NYC NYPD shootouts where 50 shots are fired by trained professionals and no one gets hit.
For all you know they might have the ammo loaded in the mag the wrong way or not even have the right ammo at all. Then they’ll forget to chamber a round. Then they’ll forget the safety is on. By this time you’re another 500 feet away and doing about 60MPH. Good luck.
