Gun owners (and conservatives in general) living in NY in 2021 are like Jews living in Berlin in 1937.

You can say "we need to stand and fight against the Nazi's", or you can get yourself and your family the fuck out of dodge. Your choice.

But be aware that "stand and fight" is not "send a few letters and $25". If you're not *really* prepared for a *real* fight with serious costs qnd a high likelihood that you will personallyose *everything* fighting it, then you best just GTFO now.

Not in the least surprised by this and frankly, I would not be surprised if there comes a time when some group (thinking Southern Poverty Law Center but maybe another) declares the US flag a hate symbol. They started the precedent when we've all but banned the Confederate Flag. In fact we just had a big conversation at work the over day about "hate symbols" and we are now required to turn away anyone who is wearing any clothing that has a Confederate Flag on it. For the record, I could see how some would see the Confederate Flag as a symbol of hate and others could see it as regional pride and they BOTH would be right. Doesn't mean it should be banned.

Back to the original point, we're creating a narrative in this country where everything about our history, founding, institutions, and traditions is racist, misogynist, bigoted, and generally hateful. The brainwashing is seeping down from higher academia to K-12 and beyond. It won't be long before it's illegal to fly a US flag anywhere except private property. As others above have said, fuck them. I think we're all getting a little close to the end of the rope as it is and while I may play the game at work (at least for a while longer) out during my "normal" life I won't suffer fools or communists. When I'm on my bench I have a US flag lapel pin that they can pry off of my cold body as far as I'm concerned.

If and when US flags are generally deemed a "hate" symbol then there's nothing stopping any of us from proudly displaying the Gadsden, Appeal to Heaven, or any other number patriotic and historical flags or even the one @libertysnake designed.

As Benjamin Franklin said, "We must all hang together, or else we all will hang separately."

The Gadsden flag has already been called out as a symbol of white supremacist hate, because people the lefties don't like have been known to fly it. Remember, in their worldview if you don't agree, you are the enemy and must be destroyed.
