Bloomberg on Sanctuary Cities: ‘The Law Is the Law’

Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg dismissed sanctuary cities on Tuesday, saying that those who oppose federal immigration laws should try to change them in legislatures.

"Morning Joe" panelist Steve Rattner asked Bloomberg for his take on the cities that refuse to cooperate with federal officials on detaining and deporting illegal immigrants.

"You cannot, Steve, have everybody deciding which laws they should obey," Bloomberg said. "The law is the law."

"You should obey the law and if you don't like the law, get your legislative body to change the law," Bloomberg continued. "But society breaks down if we can all decide what's right and what's wrong."

Current New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio is an advocate of sanctuary cities who led the charge to make New York City one. After the Trump administration threatened to cut federal funding to sanctuary cities, de Blasio said that he would fight the administration in court.

When he says "the law is the law", he means there are no limitations on what govt laws can be, and that they MUST be OBEYED.

He has no concept of Rule of Law. All he knows is Rule by Decree. And when the govt makes a rule, YOU WILL COMPLY.

Blooming idiot was also the one who conveniently changed the term limits for NYC mayor from two to three in 2008 so that he could dictate for another four years. After the election, which the dumb ass voters of NYC re-elected him again, he then had the term limits revert back to two terms.

Apparently nobody but his highness was qualified to dictate for 12 years. Not that I'm advocating three terms, just that Bloom turd truly believes if you don't want to follow the laws, just change them to suit your own personal needs/gains.

Listen to what he is saying though. It's actually worse than what they are doing. He's saying do just change them change the law on the books. If a law is passed it's much harder to repeal it than it is for a republican governor or mayor to just ripped up an executive action
