Took lots of time to get the scope on my MSR mounted, secured and sighted in. Two weeks ago at a 3 Gun aim was slightly off to one side but I figured it was just me not mounting rifle properly. This past weekend at another event I took the rifle out of the bag and my scope had spun about 45 degrees in the mount. Base was still solid but rings were loose enough for scope to spin.
Double checked that I had used blue loctite and found the residue so I know I didn't forget it. Any thoughts on why it failed? Would a good degrease of screws and rings work to remount with blue, or should I use the purple stuff? I know I don't want the red in case I want to remove it in future.
What say you?
