So is this how we will reduce the debt. I have no problem shutting down the government forever. Pay the military and that’s all. Other than that the rest of the can F off.
Not every one, emergency essential people still get to work and will just have to wait till the government opens up again to get paid. They complain? About what? The government shuts down for two weeks. Every employee gets two weeks 'vacation'. The budget is passed. They return to work and collect the salary they missed during the two weeks. Sounds like a perpetual annual scam.
Organize some extracurricular missions to the dem's homes then. It's what they all deserve.Happened to me while I was serving.
- All active duty personnel will continue to work and accrue pay, but will not be paid until appropriations are enacted.
Been there and it is not fun. Especially when deployed.while the wife and kids are at home and now no $$$$ coming in to pay the bills ... how many bills can she skip till they come collecting .. ??? ..
Social security checks will stop.
That's even better! My understanding is that they would , (but Im not positive)
You will get your retirement check. What to know about a government shutdownI believe Congress does get paid. I went through this before and it's not a big deal. (military) Most likely won't get my military retirement check but I'll survive if it goes on a long time, but I doubt it will make it into the next pay period. Gillibrand is noticeably quiet and shumeroid is in a corner now. We should all be calling his office and telling him/her what an @$$hole they are
Yes it is in the constitution in both article 1 section 6 and amendment 27Is it true that Congress still gets paid?
My suggestion?
Since they cannot do their jobs, not only should they NOT get paid, but any costs of running the .gov while they are having their temper tantrum be charged DIRECTLY TO THEM!
Let them pay out of pocket for fucking things up.
So that's what DACA stands for.WASHINGTON -- The U.S. government shut down as senators failed to reach a deal on a short-term stopgap budget measure that didn't include any resolution for the rescinded Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program. That seems to be the driving ambition of the Senate lately. Failure. The Democrats wanted a DACA deal, but it wasn't in the offering. So, they shut down the government. That may be an over-simplification but that's basically the deal. It will be interesting to see how the media spins this, but we know what happened.
As I understand it, DACA expires on March 5, so the Senate has about six weeks to come up with some sort of reasonable solution (not what they consider a reasonable solution) or they lose the whole deal. At that point, the DACA people lose big, and the law reverts to the ore-Obama era .Once the Obama executive orders expire, the DACA people become just another group of illegal aliens who need to be deported, pronto.
Senators fail. You want more Trump? This is how you get more Trump

Yes. And if no one has mentioned it in a while, thank you for your service. It just occurred to me that I prolly won't be getting my military disability stipend. Does it accrue?
Well, I don't depend on it. It helps but it's only $550 a month. 2 months and there's my Trijicon scope I guess.
I saw that Illegals get nearly $4000.00 per month under the Federal Assistance Program. I wonder if they will have to wait for their checks and services .... this time.Well, I don't depend on it. It helps but it's only $550 a month. 2 months and there's my Trijicon scope I guess.
That is fucking horseshit. If I'm lucky that's what I'll see in a month, and I bust my ass for it!I saw that Illegals get nearly $4000.00 per month under the Federal Assistance Program. I wonder if they will have to wait for their checks and services .... this time.
I am with you. And the captain obvious worst part is that it is not the government's money, it is the tax dollars of people busting their ass day after day that bankrolls the progressive left snowballing handouts. I will never understand the hoops and bureaucracy most vets have to jump through to see some earned benefits compared the the almost concierge service for handouts. That is fucking horseshit. If I'm lucky that's what I'll see in a month, and I bust my ass for it!
