Well there you have it. Law abiding citizens living in Dallas that might have been armed, follow the law. I wonder if anyone will seek out to interview any of them that were at the mall? Nah.

Yes, the mall has a rule against ALL weapons. iF they have a “30.06” no-guns sign at the entrance, then the rule has the force of Texas criminal law. If they don’t have the appropriate signs up, then concealed carriers can ignore it without legal consequences.

We recently had a thread about a Tennessee bill that would have repealed their equivalent law and quite of a few of the “muh private property” crowd here were knee-jerking against it, even though that used to be the law in New York, and the Texas/Tennessee status quo was closer to what we have here now.

This is what “muh private property” gets you; a disarmed public at busy gun-free zone soft targets in a heavily armed state.

Even in Texas, only a fraction of people carry in a given place and only a fraction of the good guys along them are going to ignore and walk past a “NO GUNS UNDER PENALTY OF CRIMINAL LAW” sign. A lot will simply make the choice to go elsewhere or comply and disarm. And you would see more “NO GUNS” signs in big cities in states like Texas or Tennessee than we used to see in New York when people carrying were either carrying illegally in the first place or legally permitted to ignore those signs.

Im completely shocked that the psycho mad man killer didn't bother to check the gun laws before he went on his rampage.
