Btw I have never gone to, or have any opinion onf buffalo gun center beyond this thread. I'll say if I order something and a month later--while the business is deciding to close forever--I'm told that the thing I ordered "takes as long as it takes", I'd be worried.
I'm often amazed how any company that regularly pisses customers off can stay in business.

Charlie1 ordered a CZ Rami if it was a BD model with the decocker it may take a long time to come in the BD model is very hard to find and go quickly when a distributor gets them in, and I think CZ only makes a run of BD’s one infrequently. I believe that they had a safety model Rami in stock last time I was there.
The answer that Charlie1 was given is arrogant and insufficient, I think in his case I would request a refund, and if denied I would do a charge ack with the refit card issuer if possible.

I bought my first pistol there in 1984 have bought probably a half dozen more since. Their prices new were fair and some used were priced well. Nobody gets along with everyone but I will miss them, I liked the old guy, but I too am an old guy.

Bought many guns there and never had a problem. Will miss their selection. A lot of people will be out of a job.
I probably will wind up asking for a refund. If they don’t give me any problems I will take the one with the safety that they have in stock. I’ve never had a problem there, 3 pistols no problems. This does make me nervous because if they close before that comes in my only recourse would be small claims which is a pain. I’d much rather walk out with a gun and no problems. I like everyone there so far. I won’t if I have trouble on Thursday.

I had the same thought, I had a gun on consignment and it sold a few months before the closing, they never called me to tell me that it was sold I just happened in and saw it gone! OH YEAH we sold that N (nice to know) I ended up taking store credit (almost $2000) and just barely got it spent when they announced that they were "moving". Glad I got what I did when I did!
Moral of the story? MAKE SURE YOU GET WHAT YOU PAID FOR AND DON'T WAIT AROUND FOR IT!
Yeah I like the store and am not happy it’s closing. When I was told it takes as long as it takes it was not said in an arrogant or nasty way. I just want to clarify that. I’m only nervous at all because it would make good business sense to not get that gun to me. I wish nothing but the best for every person who works there.
That is what I worry about. On Thursday it will be almost 40 days. If the gun isn’t in and they won’t give me the one they have there and store credit for the difference I’ll cancel the payment and get a gun somewhere else. No hard feelings but if they would have told me it was going to be this long and that they were closing o would never have bought it from them.

Agreed that this location has been hit or miss over the years with their customer service or lack thereof. With that being said, this was always the go to place for the greatest selection of newly released firearms. Due to their volume of sales, if gun center didn't have something they would sure be one of the first to receive it from a distributor. At the end of the day I'll miss going there and hate to see another local shop out of business.

I'm hoping Rob, Clint maybe one or two others will buy out the business. Problem with a stocking dealer is there's 1 or 2 million in inventory under that roof. Ever look in the back room? The building is in good shape on prime real estate. Then they need to find an FFL. I know from past conversations with Larry they had several police contracts and they were also a class III dealer. It's a complex business transition.
Cabelas and the Internet became competition over the years.

I wonder who you had to be to get one of those letters. Did they just pull them at random? They had to know that this wouldn't stay under wraps just for those who were "invited". I'm thinking the place is already sold and they're doing this just to pad some last minute sales and/or boost business for the new owners.

I've asked everyone I know and many go there all the time, nobody has received one. That pic of the letter is the same one used in a local news story.

Show them your bill of sale, they'll let you in. I have to pick up stuff Friday, I don't have one but I have a BOS from a down payment, I'm going in.

The folks at Blue Tuna are great but compared to BGC the selection is paltry. Plus, they're too far out for anyone not in the Northtowns. Wolcott's is actually the next best place selection wise but it still isn't anywhere near what BGC was. I guess I should be thankful. If they really are going out of business, they'll be saving me a ton of money. Will still miss just popping in there for a bit and coming away with something I never expected to.
Yeah great selection. Every time I went in there I bought a gun. I will miss it. Wolcott has nothing on them. Too bad. I’ll miss it there.
