Somehow I don't think this would go over so well in NYS.
Wonder what the side movement on the Iowa is?
I had heard that also. I guess 46,000 tons of displaced water offers a hell of a lot of resistance. Not even one inch inch.

Really? Not even one inch? you sure?I had heard that also. I guess 46,000 tons of displaced water offers a hell of a lot of resistance.
A10 pilots have to go full throttle when firing the gun or the recoil can actually cause it to stall!Big nose cannons on the B25 in WWII would slow the aircraft down some. All the modern guns on aircraft are recoilless as far as I know, although I have heard that the 30mm on the A10 has an effect. But I don't know that is true. I have seen the hole through a bulldozer blade made by one 30mm round. Impressive.
Hard time believing that. If they're full speed, I doubt they'd stall out.A10 pilots have to go full throttle when firing the gun or the recoil can actually cause it to stall!
No they won't, not when flying at what passes for high speed in an A10. But when they are coming in on a strafing run they are low and slow and the considerable recoil of the cannon can indeed put the plane into a stall if the pilot doesn't throttle up first.Hard time believing that. If they're full speed, I doubt they'd stall out.
A-10s aren't that fast.No they won't, not when flying at was passes for high speed in an A10. But when they are coming in on a strafing run they are low and slow and the considerable recoil of the cannon can indeed put the plane into a stall if the pilot doesn't throttle up first.
