That would be illegal since using your cell phone while driving in NY is a big no-no.
I did see a nys trooper on the wrong side of the border monday night. I almost wished i could tell him to go where he belonged.

They're just as free here as they are in PA being a trooper.
CT has some sort of Card that you must have to buy ammunition (has for at least a decade) and while I don'tknow exactly what it is, but I'm sure NJ has some fucked up way to hinder Lawful purchases.

It's already in production, so I'd say start now. You might get an answer in 100 years.

Microstamping passed as far as I know and they are doing a feasibility study before it gets implemented.

Per NYS it has to stamp a micro number in two locations simultaneously from what I remember. I think the firing pin and casing stamped.
NY passed a microstamping gun law. It’s already months behind schedule.
A state study of microstamping was due by December 2022, but it’s not estimated to be wrapped up until later in 2023.
