Had there been no such thing as revenue stops, the officer wouldn't have been in a position to fear for his life nor would the citizen fear for his due to the officer's fear.

Straight to the hoosegow.
Mine almost got shot for not taking his hand out from under the dashbaord. Sometimes getting beat bad is better, he learned that lesson. The way it went down, I was justified shooting him. But I decided early in my career I would only ever shoot someone directly threatening me with a knife or gun that way I could brag about it after and no one could stop me.
That was after I didn't shoot the first (hopefully only) guy who shot at me.

Thankfully he missed I hope.
My dads arm got stuck in a car once and was dragged about 150 feet. He tried shooting the kid, but could not get his gun out. His hand broke free and was completely uninjured. The US marshalls tracked the a hole down fast.
Missed over my right shoulder from less than 10'.
So far I've always been that lucky guy. Hit by two cars on duty too. Not a scratch.
My only "serious" injury was a sprained knee in court. Not from the perp I was fighting with, but the 5 court officers who pounced on us after I got him down. They gave me a 2 week summer vacation and a permanent occasionally bum knee.

Yeah, I know what you are saying... Years ago I called a cop a f-ing a-hole... LOL
The cop paused and just looked at me (as to say, really?) then the cop just carried on like it didn't happen.
By not getting all butthurt the cop de-escalated the situation and I also returned to treating the cop
with respect as I normally would. I was getting really pissed off and that cop handled it like a pro.
After the fact I apoligiezed for my bad attitude. And once again he just kind of acted like it didn't happen.
Now the opposite side of the coin is when my friend called a cop "dude" this past spring.
The cop got all offended by being referred to as "dude"... I can understand why they don't like that.
But I was surprised by the cops (over reaction) to it... I was thinking, man what a f-ing a-hole... LOL
