They should when a state shits on a legally ratified ammendment to the United states constitution. If a state banned catholics, everyone would expect the feds to step in and protect the first ammendment rights, nothing wrong with the fed stepping in to protect the rights guaranteed by the second ammendment.

That is why I am saying that the best thing that could happen is for it to end up in front of the SCOTUS! The Federal Government should NEVER, EVER be able to push their will over a State. If a state is violating the civil OR constitutional rights of it's citizens, then the SCOTUS should rule on it being unconstitutional and therefor not allowed, NOT a Federal mandate. Like I said that would become a very slippery slope. REMEMBER, the tide will eventually flow the other way and we DO NOT want the Federal Government to be able to overreach it's authority.
Might not be a priority on his list, but if the courts change up, it could be overturned as unconstitutional with a conservative majority in the SCOTUS.
BINGO!! This right here is how it will happen!!
