Carbine with Onsight Firearms Training

Had the pleasure of training with Ben and the crew of Onsight today at Blue Mountain. Ben runs a great class. We had shooters with a range of abilities from novice to guys who were very fluent in the language of the AR. I think everyone no matter their ability walked away feeling challenged by the course. If you think you know how to run an AR by taking it to the range and shooting off a bench think again. Running a gun in a class like today not only shows you the weakness in your abilities but also in your equipment. If you haven't taken a class like this you really need to.

I thoroughly enjoyed training with a great bunch of guys and running through a number of great drills. Shooting prone in the mud and melting snow not so much. Thanks Ben. See you in another class soon.

I have been so busy with my new job I have let several opportunities to train with Ben go by.
I was was just thinking earlier I should pick an available date and ask dispatch to set aside the time for me.
Sad truth is I haven't done much of any shooting lately.

No, I haven't forgotten. I'm just running 14 hour days and with a fixed 48 hours off per 5 days on I don't have a lot of flexibility in my schedule.
But I want to pick a date and set aside some time for some more training.

There was mud but it was mud, not "mud".
No pallet fires, although we could have used one!

Oh dear God yes. Last time around I did two days in a row. I was freaking smoked after that.

Definitely needed a bourbon to thaw the bones out but I think I'll live to train another day. We had mud but nothing like the shotgun class scheduled for today. Ben did that class happen?

Yes sir, rain or shine. I only stop classes when the gods rain down thunder and lightning.
Shotgun was fun today. It "misted' for most of the day", then around 1:30pm was just cloudy.
