Your are talking about the short little truncated guys right? There is hardly any powder in them, some CBs just use the impulse from the primer alone. The only use they have is in gallery guns or for very quiet plinking. They are as quiet as a pellet gun almost.

CCI CB's look just like any other standard 22 shorts. There are on the slow side, around 700+ fps if I recall, and are very quiet, especially in a rifle. I have a High Standard 22 short pistol that barely cycles with these...Very accurate, and very quiet. In a rifle they will group well but I wouldn't trust them for pesting. Too wimpy for squirrels, and rabbits. Maybe pest birds and chipmunks that are in poor health...

If you have no shorts, its nice to keep a couple boxes. Handy around the yard for snakes and such where noise could be an issue with neighbors. I don't agree that they are too wimpy for squirrels and rabbit, you just need to be a little more accurate. I wouldn't use them against bear.

It is my go to ammo for running my trap line. Quiet and effective. Also occasionally use it for squirrel hunting. Depends what type of .22 you are using and what you intend to use them for.

Seen them at wally world last week in Albion, gander in Tonowanda had them last time I was there, about a month ago.

I would disagree with them being too wimpy for squirrels I've had no issues head shooting squirrels with these and being that they are subsonic, they are pretty quiet shot from a bolt action rifle or revolver. I would Not recommend shooting these in a semi auto rifle or handgun.

Ideal for dispatching back yard pests without the neighbors calling the cops. Not that would do that. I love the little chippies who get in the garden.
