I under stand that! It would appear that the problem is making any level of minimal standard required for those consititutional carry states which have none but passing NICS check! Other state are not lowering there requirements. The NRA if this "Quote from Rep Collins is right" are standing their ground!

This bill is still in committee and the remaining votes that are needed want minimum standard requirements?

He was so obviously blindsided (as were most anti-gun politicos) that he could not formulate a cogent legal argument. The beauty of the Second Amendment Guarantee Act is that it is a synergy between Congressional's express ICC powers with the Congressional authority to protect civil rights. The Second Amendment, might I remind everyone, is a fundamental civil right. These people are losing their minds because they cannot come to terms with the fact that American citizens enjoy the right to keep and bear arms. Su is absolutely clueless and should stick to immigration law. He is out of his depth here.

The law firm that formulated the bill has asked me to join this forum so as to communicate the progress as we go along. I can only reveal what is permitted but I can say at this time that the bill has been favorably received and is expected to pass. Than you will be hard pressed to get me to believe that this will have any chance of even making it to the floor for a vote. Let alone get let's say 50-100 cosponsors

With that said if that previous quote is not true. My earlier statement of here we are last hour of July 2017 and national reciprocity and hearing protection act are at a damn near stand still in a house and Senate who can't get a damn thing to pass let alone something such as a pro 2a bill

This bill has a better chance of passing than National Reciprocity. Concealed carry carries with it more complex and nuanced legal issues than categorical gun bans like NY SAFE.

Collins gave an explanation at the event as to why the bill only addresses long guns and magazines. Basically said that they felt it was something they should be able to get passed and signed, whereas, if they included handguns it would likely get bogged down and die. While I really would like to see handguns included, I'll take this for now if it passed as it would still take a huge chunk out of NY(UN)SAFE.

Think about it: the anti's would no longer be able to do anything with regard to AR's, AK's, shotguns, etc. No registry; no more banned features like pistol grips, adjustable stocks, and no magazine limits. Hell yeah,- I'll take it if we can get it passed.

As I read it, it would also help gun owners in other anti states like CA. Also, as written, it actually has some teeth to enforce it and put it to those fuckers who would try to mess with it, - like FUAC for starters.

It's that old saying about getting a half loaf of bread is better than none...

If HR38, with 207 sponsors won't move, how should we expect Collins Bill, HR3576, to move with 50-100 co-sponsors?

You obviously don't read all the posts in a thread. Congressman Collins was asked a question about HR 38!

The bill is still in committee so it can change from how you read it now! Minimum standards is a sticking point being hashed out.

Do you think making states with only a NICS check required to carry is going to fly in those states?

It's taken 8 months to get 207 co sponsors for nationals reciprocity, something the right has been championing for some time now, and yet still can't get 218 of them to commit to a vote.

The so called "representative" of Collins stated that the bill they drafted was super mega awesomely loved and should pass.

Meanwhile all the I love the 2a (insert it's time for re-election) who were at one point oh national receptivity yeah I'll vote for that, have not seemed to do much in the last 8 months.

So again all I said was if the previous post of a one on one conversation that I was not at all there for was to be believed of Collins stating that there was no chance of hr 38 to pass then why should we believe that a bill negating all long gun and shot gun bans at state level will pass
