Sure, the gay rights movement had the media in their corner...eventually. Public opinion on gay rights changed over time, however. Gay rights groups suffered bruising losses in courts and state legislatures for years until the tide changed in their favor. Gay rights activists stuck together until their ultimate victory.
We can win if we understand that victory is on the side of the people - and never give up.
I'm through settling or giving in. It's kind of like when my lawyer asked me if I would consider settling a lawsuit I'm involved in. I told him: hear me loud and clear,- FUCK NO.NEVER. If Jim Tresmond is behind this all I have to say is beware...
His track record us less than stellar and far from professional. We were a PR stunt to him. Even Bombardo eventually caught on and split from his efforts.

I will just say this. I have been privy to the situation over the past year since I was going to be one of the plaintiffs in the previous case. I now understand why things turned out the way they did, what has been going on since and why things have developed the way they currently have. Rick also had personal issues he shared with me that eventually led to his departure. I can totally understand your sentiments though and can appreciate them. Even with all of that I for one will put my support behind this effort to regain my rights. I suggest you and everyone else take a deep breath, relax, try to let go of preconceived notions and get behind this effort. That is all I will say at this time.

We no longer have enough politicians that truly value our Constitution and Bill of Rights. Every Democrat POTUS we see is driven further to the left. Shooter's departure left many of us with a sense of abandonment. I get that. Tresmond hasn't been successful in their endeavors. A let down at best. But keep in mind that this hand that we were dealt with was crafted by skilled lawyers and politicians with nearly unlimited resources. Wouldn't it be fantastic if Tresmond, Bombardo, Ostrowski, Paloma, and a few more put their heads together in an effort to combat the Snake Act.
Anyhow, that's not what is going to happen, so in the mean time, get behind any and every effort to defeat any part of Cumho's Snake Act. How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time. 7 rounds got kicked to the curb. It is a victory - take it and move forward. SAGA could be the next victory. Battles don't get won by luck but by skill. Wars don't get won overnight but by many skilled battles

That's ridiculous. Just because you lose faith in the legal system, it doesn't mean you aren't a fighter. You are a realist. That doesn't mean he or anyone else for that matter doesn't support the case, upcoming bill, or what have you.
All it means is that due to previous attempts, you are sure of the outcome and aren't blindly getting your hopes up. It means you are taking it with a grain of salt. It doesn't mean you do not support the action.

Who exactly are the same people? Also, I personally wouldn't want the people who know specifics to have diarrhea of the mouth and speak before they should. We hopefully will find things out over time as they play out. On a side note, good luck with the sale of your house. Hoping for the best.

You and the "that's all I can say about it right now" secret squirrel crowd can go pound sand. I trust in NOTHING I can't verify. The legal efforts to overturn UnSafe need not expose tactics and strategy but they MUST be seen to be transparent and honorable from a public relations standpoint in order to GARNER support from the community. If you want to trust blindly in Jim Tresmond go right ahead. If they're looking for financial donations, they had better be able to tell me something other than "write the check and trust me, that's all I can say right now."
This whole deal smacks of Bombardo and Tresmond blowing smoke on a public forum about how easily they can overturn UnSafe and in the long run they both slunk off into the sunset with nothing less than a whimper leaving the rest of us with "high hopes" and not much else to hang out hats on.
How may people trust the word of their legal team when the legal team has a documented history of failing to meet the objective? How many people take advise and counsel from posters on a public forum who don't post under any semblance of their real name ? Would you let these "legal types" represent you in criminal or civil term? Would you allow them to craft your will, handle the sale and/or purchase of your next house, or represent you in a workman's compensation case when your denied benefits for a legitimate workplace injury?
The minute Bombardo and Tresmond came on NY Firearms and started beating the drum in an effort to rally the troops I expected some form of result. Personal hardships aside for Bombardo, when life returned to normal and it eventually will return to normal I expected him to resume his efforts in as much as he could. After all it was HIM who talked a big game and delivered nothing. With regards to Tresmond, I've spoken to him directly several times back when he was looking for "plaintiffs." It became clear that if you asked him pointed questions, he had no answers other than "don't tell anyone what we've spoken of, it will harm the case." 110% smoke and mirrors. So much so NYSRPA Tom King would be proud of his efforts.
I support each and every effort to overturn UnSafe. Make that as perfectly clear in your mind as you possibly can. With that said if Tresmond is even remotely involved in this deal then my wallet stays closed and my bullshit detector is on high.

Talk of them is distracting from the fact that we have a duly sponsored bill to repeal NY SAFE's assault weapons ban in the House of Representatives. This bill is about Chris Collins and voters getting what they asked for in the last election. You're ridiculous bellyaching is beyond pathetic and totally distracts from the fact that we have real legislation in the U.S. Congress that Andrew Cuomo is taking seriously. I question your motives, and the seriousness with which you take the Second Amendment.

A congressman representing portions of Western New York is proposing new legislation to undo restrictions found within New York’s Secure Ammunition and Firearms Enforcement Act.
U.S. Rep. Chris Collins, R-Clarence, unveiled the bill Monday that would do away with a state’s authority to regulate rifles and shotguns commonly used by hunters. Known as the Second Amendment Guarantee Act, legislation would prevent states from implementing regulations on such weapons that are more restrictive than what federal law requires.
Local governments also wouldn’t be able to regulate, prohibit or require registration and licensing for the sale, manufacturing, importation, transfer or possession of a rifle or shotgun.
Collins said his bill protects Second Amendment rights of New Yorkers “taken away by Gov. Andrew Cuomo.” Responding to legislation, the governor said it would put New Yorkers in harm’s way.
U.S. Rep. Tom Reed, R-Corning, said Monday that he didn’t get the chance to read Collins’ bill. But Reed said he would support legislation that takes out the SAFE Act and protects the Second Amendment.
“It’s something I feel very passionate about,” Reed said. “I will stand for the Second Amendment as one of our individual, fundamental rights as guaranteed by the Constitution each and every day I’m in Congress.”
Cuomo said New York rose to the occasion following the 2013 tragedy at Sandy Hook by passing the toughest gun safety laws in the nation. Cuomo said there’s no basis for Collins’ bill.
“The courts have resoundingly upheld New York’s law as consistent with the Constitution,” he said. “We understand that Washington is in turmoil right now — we just ask that they don’t do anything to set back the progress we’ve been able to make despite them.”
Collins’ bill would also void any future laws enacted by a state that exceeds federal law for rifles and shotguns.

The bill was introduced by Central New York Assemblyman Marc Butler and state Sen. Robert Ortt, R-North Tonawanda. The bill had 19 cosponsors in the Senate, including state Sen. Cathy Young, R-Olean. Twenty-two Assembly members signed on including Andy Goodell, R-Jamestown, and Joseph Giglio, R-Gowanda.
