OMG, the childens are SOOOO lucky the school administration followed policy and alerted the proper authorities. Who knows what could've happened when a law abiding individual brought a properly holstered gun onto school property. They might have been, gasp, I'm almost afraid to say it, SAFER than they ever have been whilein school.

Idiots all around. Even the gun owner. Why the hell would you tell anyone? And why was he not arrested? I'm sure if you or I did that, we wouldn't simply be barred from the district.

The councilman needs to be prosecuted for multiple criminal actions. Among them, posession of a loaded handgun on school grounds, and transferring a pistol to someone not authorized to posess that weapon. There are other violations, but those two stand out as the most egregious. His pistol permit needs to be revoked immediately, if not sooner. And, according to NYSAFE, since his permit would be revoked, he then would be inelligable to posess any long guns either. I want to see SWAT raid his house at 4:15 am tomorrow.

The person to whom the councilman gave his pistol for "safe keeping", needs to be prosecuted for posession of a handgun not registered to him, as well as posession of it on school grounds. Admitting to a felony, he needs to be removed from his position immediately.

The DA needs to be removed for dereliction of duty, and investigated for unequal application of the law.

The Mayor needs to get a clue. He also needs to call for the law to be upheld in an equal fashion even if the councilman is one of his best friends. Too F'ing bad.

Every one of the people directly involved have admitted to felonies. Arrest them. Prosecute them.

If it's good enough for the peasants, it should be good enough for the overlords. That is why I am saying he should be charged.

If the DA is saying he won't charge anyone for these violations of the law, then I am OK with his decision because he is following the constitution.
