You do have a point about possible binding if loaded in that manner

But if somehow it doesn't bind, or you choose not to use it that way, it's just a regular magazine with more options. You can load it like you normally do any fixed magazine and still have the ability to easily drop the rounds if you want to unload without having to chamber and eject every single round while putting a dimple in the primer.

Plus the rifle itself is not altered in any way. No bullet button, no AR Maglock / MR2, no epoxy, no T-Nut........ Nothing. The standard magazine release is retained.

How about this. Fixed mag with missing floor plate, make a larger diameter mag that will "sleeve" over existing mag with Boooolets.. it would of course have to have a some sort of mag release when attached to the pinned mag. Wish I could design/make one.

Be honest with ya,,,,you are more than likely right. My memory is so bad nowadays,,,havent used it since last summer. Just dont remember any bolt pressure,,,,though I do remember it loading a round when finished lol,,,,,so now I see what you mean :)

Just got a response to my query. The existing magazine cannot be modified for 6.8, they have no plans to make them for the 6.8. Ah well, second in popularity to the .223, there are a lot of them out there, their loss.

I'm not trying to bring this product down or anything like that firstly, but...

I'm wondering why I need to pop out all of the rounds in the first place, but if I didn't want to rack the bolt back and do it that way for some odd reason that I can't think of, The follower and retaining plate drops off very easily when the bolt is held back on my hex magazines. I did that numerous times when I was breaking in the bolt on one of my rifles when the bolt wasn't going home which resulted in double feeds. I can also break the receivers apart and pop them out manually if it was necessary. In terms of the bullet button in NY, it's not legal, the AR mag lock and MR2, also not legal so those can be ignored. The T-nut is the poor mans way to save $16. The magazine locks through which most people are using to fix a magazine in NY are literally exactly the same thing as any magazine release except the button side which two that I know about could still function as a magazine release without removing the button or release side. The removal and installation of these is about as simple as anything can get, so that's not it. I'm not sure what the discussion was about anymore?

It's about not having to remove an end plate, spring, and follower to unload or to clear a jam. That's it. Your whole rifle and magazine stays together without parts all over the place. It also keeps a standard magazine release that while easy to swap out, not needing to. It's a welcome alternative that addresses some fixed mag rifle configurations issues with just one magazine and a screw.

Sure, if you're needing to unload a loaded magazine often, I guess it's a little more convenient if you're in a rush for some reason to unload a magazine lol.

At the end of the day, a fixed magazine rifle has less moving parts to fail and uses proven magazines that the user can choose from. I like simplicity in guns myself.

I got a reply too. The magazine bottom comes off but if you stick anything in there to make it 5rnds instead of 10 it wont work right. So basically its a 10rnd mag only,,,cant be used for hunting.

Its a straight stack magazine, seems like five wooden dowel's of the same diameter would work, no different than a duck plug in a shotgun. Or even spent rounds or snap caps.

Obviously that would work but doesnt sound legal to me. Duck plugs you have to take the gun apart to remove it. At least with my 870 you do.

ended up ordering one already lol! should get it by sat. and try it next weekend at the range. btw do we still need to epoxy the screws? to remove the "capacity to remove magazines" thing
