The way I look at tipping is that *I* am employing the server.
They only half work for the restaurant, and they half work for me. ( probably more like 70%/30% really given where their income derives ).
That makes them *your* employee, and you should treat them as such. So, what kind of a boss do you want to be ?

I have two kids. They love America and are very conservative. I do at times regret having them. Nothing to do with them but this stupid world. My kids are great and very well behaved and respectful.
Never regret your kids..... I do get what you are saying. Train them right and they will do fine! Sounds like you are doing just that too! Respect still goes a long way today!
