The irony in it all. It's supposedly to defend the 1st amendment unless it's speech they don't like. In this case racism... even though you have the right to that as well. Clowns. All of them. And just another fad.

Yesterday I asked my neighbor who is a well known high profile 1st amendment lawyer.
He said that, as ugly as it is, it is actually your right to express any gestures and not stand for the flag.

What they are doing doesn't have a specific meaning although it is a sign of protest of some sort we might interpret that as
an act of treason but it is not. I can mean anything.

I don't like it a bit but I can understand these goons are using this specially with all the attention they are getting.
If nobody paid attention to these idiots this will be old news.

Doesn't exactly take a lawyer to figure that one out. Just a cursory understanding of the bill of rights.

While I am no Constitutional Scholar, I agree, basic understandings of the Bill Of Rights is all that is needed to have a decent working knowledge of our Rights.

Where my issue comes into play is not so much with the First or any other Right, but how they are selectively used. Examples within the NFL: they can take a knee because it is their Right, but the cannot wear certain shirts or Pink on non pink games to support Cancer. The players cannot wear headphones unless they are Bose when on the field. They are not allowed to give thanks and say a prayer in the end zone. These are just a few examples.

The NFL and our Elected officials care so much about individual Rights, unless of course it is the 2A.

I know and I much as I hate these goons and attention whores I thought I would ask since he is a buddy of mine.
So as expected this is within their rights.

I feel people should just stop paying attention to these idiots even if they want to crawl during the national anthem
because they just look like clowns to me.

But I am not going to start getting all worked up about that because I know as much as I don't like it it is also their
constitutional right to do so. so let them have fun disrespecting others because that is what in the end they are doing.

The constitution sucks when it is something we don't like but it is supposed to be that way I guess.

Trump should steer clear and away from this.

It doesn't mean this is not important to many but I feel it is not up for individual interpretation nor we should do much about it.

These days people seem to know a lot about their rights and nothing about their obligations, even those obligations that
are not mandated but simple gestures of social adequacy and civil duty. IMO by disrespecting others we claim nothing nor show nothing of value
but just my opinion anyway.

I get your point. it is all a facade and organized mafia. That is why I don't watch games and will not never get one cent for me.
Not because of the flag's disrespect only but because NFL has little to do with sports.
It is money in exchange for entertainment and marketing and I would have to say pretty bad entertainment anyway.
If I liked American football I would probably go see my local kids at the high school. That is the actual sport.

I disagree since I'm not outside my work waving a second amendment flag. I have no issue with them protesting what I take issue with is the NFL supporting breaking their policies for this, them disrespecting the flag that ensures them the right to protest, them disrespecting service men and women who died for their right to protest, and I will not support them in any of those. I do support their right to protest just not the way they are going about it.

Also keep in mind many on the left cause such a disruption that many speeches of conservatives have been canceled. So freedom of speech and protest should go both ways.

If You don't stand for our Anthem,then You don't stand for our Country. 50 Stars for each State and 13 Stripes for the original 13 Colonies. These high priced punks have no idea what their protesting. They have no idea who they hurt. They don't care about all the widows who lost their partner and the children who lost their Father. They're protesting Trump and the Anthem or Sports is not the venue to vent. And with the "owners"..it's all about $$$$$$$$$$ so they stick with their "cash cows" It could bite them in the @$$ down the road.

I agree with that. Like I said I am disgusted by these goons and I don't care a bit about the NFL even before this unfolded.
My point was coming from the rights discussion that yes in fact there is a right and my point is also that this right is as important as
any others including 2A regardless of what anyone considers politically correct.
But why some rights seem to have more importance than others for many.
As far as the NFL goes they now will learn about the opinions of other people who are also exercising their right to speak
and like me are disgusted by this lack of respect to all Americans.
They might think the flag is a symbol of the government, conservatives and even oppression but they are wrong since the flag
represents the entire nation and all who live in it and those who defend or have died to defend our nation and values.
That is where I believe these idiots lost perspective.
