I believe we focus to much on the bill of rights and not the body of the constitution. I understand the constitution does bind the government in many ways that doesnt mean we ignore it. Congress has no power to pass laws on what we own or how we choose to live our lives THAT IS LIBERTY. All gun laws are unconstitutional, all drug laws are unconstitutional . Stopping someone from marrying who they love is unconstitutional . As well as stopping someone from practicing religion as long as they are not harming stealing or forcing someome to do something they dont want to.
There is only 3 crimes in this world depriving people of their life ,liberty and property. All of which every goverment which ever exsisted has done. Every day in America the government commits these crimes.

Correct. There was confusion whether the BOR applied to the states. Some argued that it did via Article 6. Others said that it didn’t. To make sense of this confusion an amendment was legally added via constitutional convention with a 2/3’s majority to definitively apply it to the states.
Why was this done? To prevent what is happening now. To prevent a state from passing gun laws that the federal government cannot thus rendering the BORs useless.

Science attempts to determine a set of rules that accurately describe *how* the universe works. It says nothing about why *that* set of rules are the ones that apply. That is the realm of religion.
