Trumps biggest problem is he's a terrible speaker. He' not as bad as Bush jr, but still has a hard time getting his point across.
I think he's trying to be more positive/optimistic than necessary at this point.
cuomo does nothing that doesn't benefit him. so I have real issues with what he's saying. Basically, he knows what NYC people want to hear, so thats what he's going to say

My friend texted me and he said they are starting to see positive results with the antimalarial drug in combination with the retro-viral drugs.
It is too early to say but initially some folks are getting better and out of the ICU based on those drug combinations.

Stockpiling Ventilators
New York State pandemic planning includes careful consideration of the potential shortage of ventilators, based on the estimates discussed above. There is a federal government stockpile of ventilators, but its use is limited for any one locality; there are not enough ventilators to be distributed to meet demand if many regions need them at once.
New York State has stockpiled 1,750 ventilators to help reduce ventilator need in the face of the moderate scenario; however, there are no current plans to buy enough ventilators for the most severe model. The State's current approach to stockpiling a limited number of ventilators balances the need to prepare for a potential pandemic against the need to maintain adequate funding for current and ongoing health care expenses. Furthermore, severe staffing shortages are anticipated, and purchasing additional ventilators beyond a threshold will not save additional lives, because there will not be a sufficient number of trained staff to operate them. In the event of an overwhelming burden on the health care system, New York will not have sufficient ventilators to meet critical care needs despite its emergency stockpile. If the most severe forecast becomes a reality, New York State and the rest of the country will need to allocate ventilators and other scarce resources.
In sum, Cuomo knew NY State needed 15,000 more ventilators in 2015, and did nothing.
In fact, in that very report, the state justified not buying the 15K ventilators because "severe staffing shortages are anticipated, and purchasing additional ventilators beyond a threshold will not save additional lives, because there will not be a sufficient number of trained staff to operate them."
Andy Cuomo wants 30K more ventilators from the Feds and he wants them yesterday. However, less than five years ago the state's rationale for not purchasing the 15K (it knew it would need during this very type of scenario) was, even if the state had the 15K extra ventilators, there would never be enough personnel to even operate them.

He’s an asshole being a politician. There are a lot of companies who didn’t make masks who are voluntarily tooling up to make them. And those who do (very few onshore) are working to crank them out it’s a monumental number needed shit I had to use 4 today x that by how many in EMS and healthcare. Many companies are also tooling up to make Ventilators as well you know those things Cumhole decided not to stock up on durring the last potential pandemic in 2015. There isn’t a need for the gov to seize or even force them to do anything for the most part.

Oh there being used now Home Depot’s and hardware stores have been hit up hard by agencies and hospitals it is possible 3M can’t sell direct for that purpose but right now nobody cares who needs them. N95 is N95 screw the .gov rules
